Property Description for 68 Grove Street, 2-R

Constructed in 1931 and newly developed in 2019, 68 Grove has been meticulously restored and converted into a rare boutique condominium offering in the heart of Bushwick. Thoughtfully laid out amongst 1,228 square feet of interiors, Unit 2R is a three-bedroom, two-bathroom home boasting soaring ceilings, an abundance of natural light plus a brand-new 575-square-foot custom roof terrace. The grand-scale panoramic great room is flanked by oversized windows with western and northern exposures. A decorative exposed brick fireplace with beautiful original moldings accentuates the space. Open to the great room, the chef's kitchen is tastefully designed with a large quartz island and countertops and outfitted with appliances by Bosch and Fisher Paykel. The secluded primary bedroom is tucked away at the east side of the home and features generous closet space and a large en-suite bathroom with marble walls and double sink vanity. The two additional bedrooms are serviced by an equally luxurious bathroom and ample closet space. Additional features include custom-built-out closets, customized blinds by The Shade Store, an in-unit vented washer/dryer, central A/C, and white oak floors. A private storage unit and a private roof terrace transfer with the sale. Located on a tree-lined block, 68 Grove is conveniently near the J/Z and M subway lines and close to several parks, restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops.

Bushwick | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

As one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York, Bushwick offers a perfect snapshot of just how multicultural the city is. Long-established as an amalgam of cultures and ethnicities, a wave of varying types of immigrants trickled in from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries, with Bushwick largely becoming a home to Hispanics of Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds by the latter part of the twentieth century.

With the Bushwick Initiative of the mid-00s that aided in revitalization, it became an attractive area to young professionals and artists. And even now, Bushwick has sustained affordable rent prices where other North Brooklyn counterparts, like Williamsburg and Greenpoint, have become more expensive. Priding itself on the weird and the wacky, numerous art collectives thrive in this part of Brooklyn, once famously named the seventh coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue.

Though it has drawn in many tourists in recent years (there’s even a graffiti tour you can take from the Bushwick Collective), the neighborhood remains very much community-oriented, and has not been subject to quite the same sort of corporate infiltration phenomenon of its nearby Williamsburg environs.

But yes, of course, Bushwick has come a very long way from its 80s and 90s reputation as being “The Well,” a nickname given to it for its free-flowing and widely available amount of drugs (quantity over quality being the cliche applied here).
