  • As you enter apartment 7D you are treated to breathtaking views of the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges and the Manhattan skyline; a feast of light and space which is unique to this reconfigured loft-like home. Several walls have been removed, pocket doors added, and the original design has been replaced by an open plan layout with creative cabinet work, generous storage in the kitchen and extensive shelves providing for all your display and storage needs. The fully renovated apartment is truly a one of a kind space in the Clocktower Condominium.
  • The apartment measures 2477 square feet and is currently configured with 2 private bedrooms plus a home office (essentially a third bedroom) and 2 and 1/2 baths. The large master bedroom has its own office space and the numerous shelves and cabinets are a wonderful addition. The master bath has an attractive sink, mirrored cabinet, large Jacuzzi tub and an enclosed shower. The second bedroom functions as an entertainment room as well as a place for guests. The home office/den is currently used as a third bedroom/playroom. Sliding doors add privacy when needed. The separate laundry room with sink also serves as a storage space with many built ins and useful shelving.

  • The former Gair box factory, built in 1915, was converted to the iconic full service Clocktower building in 1998. One Main features low monthlies, 11+ foot ceilings and concrete cast columns, hard wood floors, central air, high end appliances, state-of-the-art internet connections, generous closets and large living spaces. The 16 oversized windows provide an incredible view over Brooklyn Bridge Park and the East River. Brooklyn Bridge Park is your backyard and stretches for 1 and 1/4 miles along the Brooklyn waterfront. The unusual faux marble lobby is accessed through a set of 3 double brass doors. There is a 24 hour doorman, full time super, fantastic staff, well equipped gym, generous roof deck, bike room and storage lockers for rent.

  • Dumbo is New York's hottest neighborhood with incredible art galleries and restaurants. Brooklyn Bridge Park is world class with Jane's Carousel and the Arts at Saint Ann's at your doorstep. The East River Ferry is a block away, the A/C/F/2/3 trains and the 25 Bus are easily accessible.

Dumbo | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

DUMBO, which is an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, used to be a lively industrial and manufacturing zone, full of large factories and warehouses. These buildings have now been converted into expansive lofts, theaters, galleries, and office spaces for start-up companies. These larger residential spaces are attractive to families and creative artists and writers who need space to dream and create.

DUMBO was named in 1978 as a sort of reverse marketing ploy to try to keep people from swarming into the area, attracted by the quaint tree-lined streets, elegant historic brownstones, large lofts, and views of Lower Manhattan. It was felt that this influx of people would change the nature of the neighborhood. It was hoped that by giving the area a ridiculous name, nobody would want to live there.

Many of the neighborhood’s bars, hotels, and restaurants capitalize on the stunning waterfront views and the Manhattan skyline in the background. Interesting and fun cultural events are held under and around the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges that connect DUMBO to Manhattan. One of these is the annual Oktoberfest.

With beautiful vignettes of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges being framed around every corner, DUMBO provides residents and tourists with charming, and often surprising, views. Because the neighborhood is eminently walkable and filled with unique shops, it feels like a small town on the edge of a major urban waterfront. Once people move to DUMBO, they tend to stay and become involved in the community.
