Property Description for 51 East 7th Street, 1-A

Occupying half of the parlor floor of a classic red brick townhouse measuring 25 feet wide, this sprawling loft-like apartment with soaring ceilings is unlike any other property available for rent in the East Village. After recently undergoing an extensive renovation which mindfully blended prewar charm with modern upgrades, the apartment is now available for immediate occupancy.

Enjoy the brand new clawfoot tub in the oversized windowed bathroom, which also features a stackable Miele washer/dryer. Be the first to cook in the custom-designed open kitchen boasting stainless steel appliances, including a Fisher & Paykel range. Revel in the natural light streaming through three South-facing windows. Adjust the room temperature with your split-unit air-conditioner. Display your favorite items on the decorative antique mantel. And take advantage of being in close proximity to Tompkins Square Park, public transportation (6, N/R, and F trains), and many of Manhattan's top-rated restaurants, cafes, bars, and boutiques, as the apartment is located on one of the East Village's nicest tree-lined streets between First and Second Avenues.

Significantly larger than many one-bedroom apartments, the layout provides ample space for the creation of a separate bedroom, while still maintaining a sizable living room. Perhaps best of all is an extremely large walk-in closet, in addition to a loft area large enough to accommodate a bed.Showing exclusively by appointment only.

Pets will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
