If you are looking for a white glove, doorman service and luxury, this is a right apartment for you. As you enter the foyer of the unit you will be greeted by a large walk-in closet on your left and built in shelves with storage and closets on your right side. As you enter the living room, you will find large open space and two oversized windows and plenty of natural light. Windowed Kitchen is set on the right size and features a dishwasher.

The separate sleeping alcove is divided with the sliding frosted glass door, and it comfortably fits a full-sized bed and end table. There is built in closet and overhead storage with the bookshelves. Windowed bathroom is set off of the sleeping alcove with the sliding doors and plenty of cabinetry for maximized storage.

414 East 52nd street is part of The Southgate complex located in Manhattan's Beekman neighborhood. Four of the buildings are in a cul-de-sac on East 52nd Street and the other is located a block over, on East 51st Street. The cluster of buildings, which was originally designed by renowned architect Emery Roth and built by the Bing and Bing brothers, turned Beekman into the thriving residential enclave that it is today. The location provides a perfect blend of immediate access to all of the amenities of Midtown, with the privacy and tranquility of the nearby parks, dog runs and the East River.

Completed in 1931, the Southgate features a full-time doorman, landscaped garden with children's play area, laundry room, storage, and bicycle room. Pied-a-terre and pets are allowed, and electricity is included in the maintenance.

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
