Property Description for 10 Leonard Street, 5-S

Welcome to residence 5S at 10 Leonard, a charming and bright loft located in the heart of Tribeca. Upon entry, exposed brick walls, expansive windows, wooden beamed ceilings, and an abundance of natural light create a warm and inviting atmosphere. The living space has a natural flow with an open floor plan and plenty of space for both dining and work-from-home optionality. This apartment also offers modern amenities such as central AC in the living room and secondary bedroom, a window AC unit in the primary, and additional soundproofing between the exposed wooden beams in the ceiling. The open chef's kitchen seamlessly integrates with the living room with top-of-the-line appliances, including a Sub-Zero Fridge, Thermador range, and Viking wine fridge. There are endless storage options with custom walnut cabinetry reaching all the way to the ceiling. The views in this apartment are incredibly rare and unique for a loft in TriBeCa. From the living room, you have open western views of idyllic cobblestone blocks and architecture along Hudson Street with glimpses of the Hudson River. In the primary bedroom, you have open views to the south of One World Trade. It is important to note, the southern and western lights and views are protected by an easement, which we can provide documentation on upon request. The split bedroom layout allows for maximum privacy, each with its own ensuite bathroom. The king-sized primary bedroom feels like a serene oasis with white-washed bricks and open southern views of One World Trade and bonus windows to the west. This spacious sanctuary exudes character, featuring original stamping details on the walls dating back to when the building served as an apple canning warehouse. The primary also features windowed AC, a large custom walk-in closet and windowed bathroom with a glass rainfall shower. The secondary bedroom features custom built-ins, window AC and an ensuite bath with a tub and W/D. Additional highlights of the residence include custom-designed steel radiators, city-quiet windows, elegant lighting fixtures, abundant storage throughout, a private storage cage deeded to the apt, and a secure keyed elevator entry. 10 Leonard Street stands as a testament to architectural history, having been converted from a turn-of-the-century warehouse into a boutique pet-friendly cooperative on one of Tribeca's most sought-after cobblestone blocks. Enjoy easy access to Tribeca's finest restaurants and shops, including popular establishments like Frenchette, Whole Foods, and Hudson River Park. The location is incredibly convenient, with the 1 train just one block away and easy access to the A, C, E, 2, 3, N,Q,R,W trains.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
