Property Description for 5 Beekman Street, PH-50

Floating high above New York City at the new 5 Beekman Street Residences, this impressive 3,554sf full floor Penthouse wraps four corners offering mesmerizing views in every direction through walls of floor to ceiling windows. 5 Beekman Street, a 51 story full service doorman condominium with interiors by Thomas Juul-Hansen, offers a robust array of enviable amenities including two superb restaurants within the building and access to the exceptional Beekman Hotel services (listed below).

The double elevators open to a private landing accessed only by this penthouse. A particularly spacious entry foyer leads to the marvelously expansive 20' by almost 50' corner Great Room with 16' tall marble gas fireplace which punctuates the home. The voluminous 16' ceilings and floor to ceiling wrap windows provide a sweep of views including the Statue of Liberty and the harbor - an undoubtedly superb centerpiece in which to entertain on a large scale. The exceptionally expansive separate custom Miele eat-in kitchen with breakfast area and center island is crowned by a full length terrace and captivating open north city views over City Hall. A hall off the main foyer leads to three bedroom suites - the first of which doubles as a comfortable media room/den with access to the terrace and offers a cozy contrast to the larger public rooms of the apartment. The 20 X 15 corner primary bedroom suite is wrapped with floor to ceiling windows which echo the scale of the room. The suite includes two large walk-in closets and a luxuriously outfitted marble bath framed by floor to ceiling windows, double sinks, tub and stall steam shower. An additional corner bedroom with bath en-suite and open south views to the Freedom Tower completes the bedroom wing. The generous full floor layout is complete with a marble half bath off the entry, a walk-in laundry room, handsome hardwood oak flooring throughout, multi-zoned central air-conditioning and electric window treatments.

The 5 Beekman Condominium at 121 Nassau Street includes a remarkable collection of amenities with direct elevator access including two terrific restaurants at the base offering room service - Daniel Boulud's "Le Gratin" French bistro and Tom Colicchio's "Temple Court" and Bar Room - a state of the art gym, a private event space/dining room with a landscaped rooftop terrace and an in house concierge with access to a-la-carte hotel services. 5 Beekman Street's exciting downtown location offers immediate access to most major subway lines through the new Fulton Street station within a block. Pet friendly.

Seaport District | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The Seaport District sits between the Financial District to the south and the Brooklyn Bridge to the north. The original Seaport designation was limited to the streets east of Water Street from Fletcher Street to Dover Street and incorporated the actual Seaport and the piers. But no more. Today, the neighborhood boundaries have expanded westward toward Park Row and include a surge of new developments in the area around Pace University and City Hall Park.

This is not your father’s Seaport. It is no longer a commercial hub and the seafood industry, which operated out of the port for nearly two hundred years, has been displaced. The older low-rise buildings that line these cobblestoned streets have been repositioned, the SouthBridge towers complex to the east of Water Street has gone free market, multiple commercial buildings have been converted to residential usage and new gleaming residential towers are rising on the site of the iconic J&R Music World which once lined the east side of Park Row.

Still, the Seaport is a small neighborhood, particularly quaint just north of Beekman Street. The streets are dominated by century-old warehouses and maritime buildings which gives the neighborhood its overt character. The Brooklyn Bridge, on its northern edge, looms in the backdrop.
