Property Description for 150 East 27th Street, 4-F

Attention to detail and a focus on optimizing space are evident throughout. This home underwent a significant renovation with all-new kitchen and baths. This true three-bedroom, two-bathroom is located in the heart of Kips Bay. The open floor plan makes it the largest residence in the building, perfect for entertaining or intimate gatherings with family. Each room has through wall AC units. The massive living and dining area are complemented by stunning light and an abundance of space for both a separate dining table and couch area. The tastefully renovated chef’s kitchen is outfitted with a Sub Zero Refrigerator, Miele dishwasher, Wolf stove/oven, a wine fridge, and a microwave drawer. Every detail was thoughtfully executed. This oversized kitchen also features two generous islands with bar seating, tons of storage, and counter space. Located on its own wing of the apartment, the primary suite is a quiet escape with optimal privacy. A truly soothing oasis. Large enough for a king size bed and plenty of room to spare, you are also treated to two large walk-in closets through a dressing area. The en-suite primary bathroom is outfitted with a large linen closet, built-in makeup vanity, and an updated glass door shower. The additional two bedrooms are on the other side of the apartment. One is large enough to easily accommodate a king bed and more. The other can fit a full size bed. Both are equipped with large closets. The shared windowed bathroom is outfitted with 3 built-in medicine cabinets, a tub, updated tile, and cabinetry. Gotham House is a well-run postwar co-op building in the cross streets of Kips Bay, Gramercy, Murray Hill, Nomad, and Flatiron neighborhoods. The building features a newly renovated lobby, newly renovated hallways, a live-in super, a virtual entry system accessible remotely from your smartphone, laundry in the building, new package room, and on-site parking at a low rate for residents only. Surrounded by amazing restaurants and within walking distance to Madison Square Park and Grand Central. All major transportation is easily accessible. Zoned for PS 116.

Kips Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

If you take a walk through Kips Bay, which is loosely defined as the area between 23rd street and 34th street and the East River to almost Lexington, you’ll quickly learn it's a hodgepodge of sorts and not as well defined as other neighborhoods in New York City. Some New Yorkers say Kips Bay has an identity crisis because 1st, 2nd, and 3rd avenues are distinctly different from one another as you traverse them. Despite the perceived lack of neighborhood vibe there are others that appreciate its affordability and convenience.

First Avenue is dominated by hospitals and hospital buildings such as NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital to name a few. Second Avenue is a mosaic of convenience stores, fast food joints and nondescript brick buildings. Third Avenue is saturated with small bars and gastropubs and the twenty somethings that patronize them.

No judgement against Kips Bay here. It’s a great neighborhood that is just as much a part of New York City as any other neighborhood. Kips Bay It’s bordered by Murray Hill to the North, Stuyvesant Town and Gramercy Park to the South, and Rose Hill to the West. The neighborhood is partly defined by newer high-rise apartments, brick rowhouses, and former tenement buildings.
