Property Description for 158-18 Riverside Drive West, 5-N50

Newly renovated and flooded in sunlight, this turn-key 1.5 bedroom or 1 bed plus extra den (see floorplan) has an oversized living room and a perfect combination of character and modern design. No board approval needed but located in a beautiful coop with exceptional Hudson River Views, this apartment has 3 exposures (east, south, and north). As it is a corner apartment, it's quiet, set-back, and tranquil.

Unit 5N was recently refinished with recessed lighting. The kitchen was expertly modernized with stainless steel appliances (including dishwasher), Quartz countertops, an eat-in breakfast bar, and new cabinetry. The apartment even features an in-unit Bosch washer/dryer.

The living room is spacious enough for a dining and entertaining area, not to mention there's an additional already mentioned bonus room for an added den, desk, or nursery. The primary bedroom comfortably fits a King Sized bed with space for additional furniture as well as a very large closet.

Situated along the Hudson River, the location is not only idyllic and convenient (moments away from the 1/A/C trains) but the amenities are truly top of the line. There’s a full-time 24 hour doorman, elevators, gym, common outdoor space, bike storage, additional 24/7 laundry room, storage cages, parking garage, live-in super, and community room. With an eye to the future, the River Arts has gone green with the installation of Solar Panels. (Cats are okay, sorry NO dogs)

Washington Heights | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Washington Heights, a hilly neighborhood on Manhattan’s northern tip known for its affordable apartments, preserved pre-war buildings, and Dominican food. Some would argue that it's a hidden gem and one of Manhattan's last neighborhoods that has retained its culture. The large swath of land is bordered by Inwood to the north along Dyckman Street, by Harlem to the South along 155th Street, by the Harlem River to the east, and the Hudson River to the West. It is the highest natural point on the Island of Manhattan.

Despite its high residential density, Washington Heights and Inwood have not seen modern housing construction in more than a decade other than relatively small housing units. Midtown Manhattan, Battery Park, TriBeCa, Chelsea, and Hell’s Kitchen, on the other hand, have seen an increase in building. Most of the high rise construction belongs to hospitals such as New York Presbyterian, Columbia University Medical Center, and educational institutions like Yeshiva University and Boricua College.

Washington Heights has access to amazing green spaces like The Cloisters, Fort Washington Park, Highbridge Park and Fort Tryon Park. There is no shortage of historical landmarks either. Remember General George Washington set up his camp in Washington Heights during the Revolutionary War. He used the elevated neighborhood to his tactical advantage to spot the Redcoats. As history would have it, his plan didn’t work out so well and the British occupied New York for seven years.
