Property Description for 60 East 8th Street, 4-K

It is true that not all square footage is created equally. That's the beauty of this highly efficient Georgetown Plaza layout which was originally designed as a large two bedroom corner apartment. Its original layout has been perfectly "flexed" with a third. Every room retains nice proportions, and even the flex room has a window with enough room for a nursery, home office, or spare guest room. It has great closet space too. Some might even consider restoring the original two bedroom layout with its luxuriously sized, mid-century, L-shaped living room. The potential to re-flex is built-into the property. You can absolutely move right in, but there's also room left to add value to this very livable home, with updates whenever you are ready. It is priced to appeal to buyers seeking a functional three bedroom, on a two bedroom budget! This rarely available K-Line apartment has pretty architectural views which are well set back from the street, with wide-open sky, terrific light, and a surprisingly quiet environment. Designers cherish this apartment's square-ish, corner footprint for layout flexibility. View the listing floor plans to see the original and an alternate layout option. Georgetown Plaza is a 1967 vintage, mid-century-modern, doorman building, that's located at the center of Greenwich Village. You'll enjoy full-featured lifestyle amenities including a rooftop pool and health club, landscaped sun deck, garage (fees apply), bike room, storage, and a laundry room on every floor. You and your guests are welcomed by a friendly uniformed staff who ready to help. Georgetown Plaza is a highly sought after, professionally-managed "Condop". It permits pied--terre, co-purchases, and investors. Could this be the well-priced apartment in the heart of Greenwich Village that you've been hoping to find? Call for an appointment to find out.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
