Property Description for 44 East 12th Street, 10-A

Live in a vacation. Featured in the New York Post - 44 East 12th Street, a stunning Mediterranean-style penthouse residence located in the heart of Greenwich Village. Owned and curated by the visionary minds behind the esteemed clothing, home goods, and furniture brand Arjé, this meticulously renovated turn-key property is configured as a gracious one bedroom duplex with a stunning open kitchen, formal dining room, two full bathrooms, and a separate laundry room - offering a comfortable and luxurious one-of-a-kind living experience. Everything has been thoughtfully designed and beautifully executed. Upon entering, you'll be greeted by the spacious eat-in open kitchen which is a standout feature of this unique home, featuring top-of-the-line stainless steel appliances, a large center island with fluted wood siding, custom designed cabinetry, and venetian plaster countertops and walls. A key feature of this apartment is the use of Art-Deco inspired arches that seamlessly connect the rooms, creating a sense of continuity throughout the home. In fact, the formal dining room is anchored by a sweeping arch from the kitchen, perfectly connecting the two complementary rooms, as well as an arched entry from the living room. Details of this oversized, rare and special room include handmade oak wood fluted walls and views of the Empire State Building, creating a luxe dining experience. And should one opt to create a second bedroom or office, this is the perfect space in which to do so. Another stylish aspect lies in the contrast between the black oxidized oak flooring and the beautifully washed limestone walls. Oversized windows throughout the apartment flood every room with an influx of natural light and breathtaking northern views. The living room showcases multiple vignettes to cater to your various needs, whether it's for indulging in a good book, hosting lively gatherings, or embracing your creative side. The finishes throughout are superb with decorative wall trim, moldings, and built-in shelving to display all of your objéts d’art. Enhancing the space, a built-in projector sets the stage for intimate movie nights and entertaining guests, while a decorative fireplace adorned with warm-toned accents creates a cozy and inviting ambiance. Off the living room is a walk-in closet with in-unit washer and dryer and ample storage space for all your essentials. There is also a full bath with glass-enclosed shower completing this first level of the home. An elegant spiral staircase whisks you up to the primary suite which ecompasses the entire upper level of the home. Limewash walls and natural stained oak floors create a soothing ambiance. There is a beautiful spa-like ensuite bath with shower, ample closet space, a second decorative fireplace, and an absolute retreat of a private terrace where one can indulge in the ultimate relaxation while enjoying city views, including the iconic Empire State Building. This is truly a tranquil oasis away from the hustle and bustle of New York City. Located in the Gold Coast of Greenwich Village, one of New York's most sought-after neighborhoods, 44 East 12th Street is a boutique doorman condominium with close proximity to all the Village has to offer - including world class restaurants, shopping, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, nightlife, NYU, and both Union Square (which provides a convenient transportation hub) and Washington Square Park. Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
