Property Description for 443 Greenwich Street, PH-E

Parking Included Welcome to Penthouse E, one of just eight penthouse-level residences atop 443 Greenwich. Located in historic North TriBeCa just two blocks from Hudson River Park, 443 Greenwich Street is a landmark 1882 factory building that was fully transformed into LEED-certified luxury lofts by the team at CetraRuddy Architects. It is, without question, one of the neighborhood’s most desirable addresses, offering a level of privacy and refinement that has attracted numerous celebrity residents. Outside, 443 Greenwich retains much of the grand brickwork and period details originally conceived by Charles C. Haight, but inside, all common and living spaces were meticulously reimagined for a contemporary New York lifestyle. Recently, Penthouse E underwent a full remodel by E.B. Min, of Min Design Co. in San Francisco, earning her team a prestigious SF Design Week Award. The spacious layout boasts 4,968 SF of living space spread over the sixth and seventh floors, with a 1,254 SF private rooftop terrace. There are four bedrooms, four-and-a-half bathrooms, a media room, kids’ space and a deeded indoor parking space with electric vehicle charging. Min’s unique minimalism creates harmony between heavy and the light elements. Large timber beams and columns contrast with smooth, minimal surfaces and a restrained and elemental color palette. The result is a serene and functional penthouse ideal for both family living and chic entertaining. The interior features all-new built-ins and millwork, including custom Fenix laminate over baltic birch and Wilsonart Traceless laminate over baltic birch, custom pegboard for the craft room/office is also birch. The bedrooms and bathrooms have wire brushed douglas fir cypress casework, there is additional hallway storage, new engineered white oak flooring and built-in bookshelves throughout. In fall and winter, a unique humidification system and working fireplace in the living room keep the spacious interior cozy and inviting. Living room light fixture is from BDDW, kitchen island pendants are Ladies and Gentlemen, and the pulley lights in Primary Bedroom are from world renowned Dutch Design firm, Studio WM. Clever touches include hidden work-from-home stations in the dining room and a discreet nook beneath the redesigned staircase. Crafted from folded steel plates, the staircase is a central moment in the overall design – a sculptural object that captures and carves light across each level. Cristalplant Corian window sills adorn throughout the home. The bathrooms were redesigned with custom dual vanities adding extensive storage, the bathroom vanity is wire brushed douglas fir with a Rubio monocoat white wash. They feature tiling from Mutina and Cle, with fixtures by Dornbracht, Waterworks, Boffi, Duravit, Fantini, Agape and other leading manufacturers. Countertops and sinks are integral Cristalplant from high end Spanish manufacturer, Inabni. In the kitchen, discover premium fixtures and finishes from Julien and KWC, a 48 inch Wolf range, Miele appliances, Thermador refrigerator and freezer, a built-in wine cooler and more. Enjoy complete control over the atmosphere thanks to a Lutron Homeworks lighting system, motorized J-Geiger shades, a Savant HVAC control system and designer lighting from David Weeks and Marset. This control extends to audio, as well. A 15-zone Sonos system allows you to wirelessly stream music to every room, including the rooftop terrace. Enjoy cinematic sound in the high-performance media room, with its 7.1 surround sound system, while a Monitor Audio Platinum Hifi provides an audiophile listening experience in the living room. Resident-only amenities at 443 Greenwich include a 71-foot indoor lap pool with travertine marble walls, children’s playroom, 5,000 SF landscaped rooftop terrace, fitness center, private fitness studios, and both men’s and women’s locker rooms with an adjacent hamam. However, its crowning amenity is a stunning 4,000 SF central courtyard designed by landscape architect Hank White, offering a priceless – and private – natural retreat in the heart of Manhattan. Residents also enjoy a 24-hour doorman, 24-hour concierge, valet and live-in resident manager, as well as private storage rooms and access to temperature-controlled wine storage.

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
