Property Description for 583 Lincoln Place, 1

Enjoy the seasons from 250SF of two-tiered private outdoor space in this sun-lover's dream. The 150SF private roof deck space is perfect for yoga sessions, plant life (optional irrigation connection), or just soaking in the ample sunlight, while the 100SF private bluestone patio features an optional gas hookup, perfect for dining al fresco. You'll especially enjoy this breakfast patio, since it's connected directly to a custom eat-in kitchen featuring an extra-wide porcelain sink, Miele dishwasher, chef's range, convection steam oven, and ceiling-mounted Bose speakers. Step into the radiant embrace of this exquisite home, where tasteful natural finishes and luxurious touches await your discovery. The entire home features stunning oversized Larchwood European tilt-and-turn triple-pane windows, keeping the city sounds outside while letting in extraordinary light from southern, eastern, and western exposures. Doors, trim, and extra-deep window sills are finished in Douglas Fir for an elegant and natural feel, and the hardwood floors are North American White Oak. The living room features a show-stopping Mitzi 9-light chandelier, built-in media cabinet, and the original 1910s fireplace mantle with oval mirror and custom bookshelves. If you enjoy watching movies, you'll love the surround-sound wiring, and the TV can be left in place if you prefer not to have to connect your own. The bedroom spans the width of the townhouse, lit by multiple oversized windows, and is fitted with a custom Douglas Fir walk-in closet and three floating bookshelves. Custom tile, Hansgrohe Axor and Waterworks bath fixtures, and an elegant central hanging pendant by Foscarini provide luxurious touches in a generously-sized bathroom. An immaculate cellar is shared amongst the three building units, with access to free laundry with a washing sink and drying rack. A private storage unit (approx 65SF) is included in the rent, as is storage for two bikes. There's also possible extra storage available at an additional cost. Start date is September 1st. 12 month lease. Cats are welcome, but sorry — no dogs.

Crown Heights | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Originally known as Crown Hill by the Lenape Indians that lived there, Crown Heights has evolved into a diverse neighborhood, occupied primarily by Hasidic Jews and one of the largest Caribbean populations to be found anywhere outside of the West Indies.

Head over to Nostrand Avenue, one of the main West Indian commercial areas in the neighborhood, which is lined with stores that have been in those exact same places for generations, providing their goods and services to area residents. Kingston Avenue has similar commercial activities that support the Jewish community, and Franklin Avenue shows the most signs of change and gentrification, with an ever-expanding mix of yoga studios, coffee shops, and organic grocery stores that serve the influx of young professionals. No matter which of these areas you visit, you will find an interesting mix of businesses that you wouldn’t normally picture as existing side-by-side. It is all part of the cultural diversity of Crown Heights.

The neighborhood is bisected, from east to west, by Eastern Parkway, which is a beautiful, 3-mile-long boulevard lined with mature trees. This leafy oasis was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed designer of Central Park, the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, and the U. S. Capitol in Washington, D. C.

You will find a mix of low-rise apartment buildings, large middle-class elevator buildings, brownstones, and some luxury buildings. Century-old architecture stands next to modern residential developments in a visually interesting mix of styles, much as the diversity of the residents exists. People who would not normally meet and mix are forging new pathways to cultural understanding by working, living, and playing together in the same neighborhood.
