This almost-new, refined, south-west corner, light-bathed home converted from its original 3-bedroom layout to create a lavishly scaled 2-bedroom, 3-bathroom apartment combines city convenience - nestled equidistant between the vibrant Meatpacking District in the West Village and Hudson Yards to the north - with all the grace of West Chelsea, a neighborhood anchored by 300 of the world's leading art galleries.   AD 100 (Architectural Digest) architect Thomas Juul Hansen's timeless contemporary architecture combined with very chic interiors by interior designer, Jenna Chused of Chused & Co delivering a luxurious and serene oasis. A private elevator entrance opens into the gracious foyer that leads to a generously scaled light-filled corner great room with 10' ceilings and eight enormous windows that hover high above the superb High Line Park, the ultimate elevated promenade connecting you to multiple neighborhoods without the need to cross a single street. The sophisticated kitchen adorned with Absolute Black granite countertops and custom oak cabinets in an elegant grey stain with leather-wrapped brass pulls is open to the living/dining room, expertly equipped with Miele appliances including an electric speed oven, convection/microwave oven, warming drawer, 5-burner cooktop with vented hood, dishwasher, and 36" integrated refrigerator/freezer. The sizable primary bedroom suite offers a custom walk-in closet and a dreamy granite and travertine bathroom with twin sinks, a massive shower room with a high-pressure rain shower head, a deep soaking tub, a separate water closet, and radiant-heated floors. The guest bedroom perched at the opposite end of the apartment has park views and an immaculately appointed en suite bathroom. The windowed media room/study adjoining the living room can easily be converted to the third bedroom.  Multiple amenities including AV systems and motorized window shades, in addition to gleaming white oak flooring, multi-zone ducted central a/c and heat, and a well-equipped laundry room with full-size capacity vented side-by-side washer/dryer. Private storage is included with the apartment.  505 West 19th Street is a discreet, boutique-scaled 35-unit condominium with a full-time Doorman/Concierge and live-in resident manager, cold storage, and a well-equipped gym and bicycle room. Its art-filled gallery-style common areas redefine sophistication. West Chelsea, recently unveiled after two decades of construction, has evolved into one of New York's most desired residential neighborhoods, featuring charming historic townhouses and landmarks to the most comprehensive selection of buildings designed by some of the world's most esteemed architects. Tree-lined streets and multiple parks invite residents and their dogs to enjoy this neighborhood, a beneficiary of the spectacular Hudson River Park and Chelsea Piers to the West.  Dozens of top-notch restaurants, boutique hotels, two large Equinox Fitness Centers, Chelsea Market, the Whitney Museum of Art, Little Island, The Shed, Google Headquarters, The Hudson Yards Mall, Whole Foods, etc are all within 12 minutes of your front door.....soon to be joined by a Faena Hotel and Spa.  Pets on a case-by-case basis.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
