Property Description for 139 East 23rd Street, 9-FLR

The first resale is now available for a discerning buyer, who appreciates further customization than what was delivered from the developer. This floor-through, two-bedroom, two-bath residence marries sleek design with extraordinary comfort and convenience.

The original floorplan has been enhanced with a designated dining area in the great room, which in turn provided some essential storage in the primary bathroom, not seen in the original delivery. A new custom vanity in the secondary bath, along with a truly custom primary closet help set this home apart from the other 14 residences. This private loft has also been given an elevated feel with a beautiful lime wash on the walls, a truly turn key home that isn't to be missed.

Located in the exclusive Gramercy area, minutes from Madison Square Park and some of the best restaurants and shops in the city, this bespoke home offers virtual doorman service, a secure package room, bike room and a garden roof terrace with iconic skyline views.

Natural light fills the open living-dining-kitchen area and tickles your senses as you arrive via private elevator. Wall-to-wall windows along the south exposure illuminate the interior even on gloomy days. Enjoy designer touches such as 7-inch-wide pale hardwood floors, custom light fixtures, and Italian-made LEMA custom closets and Effebiquattro doors.

The chic design sensibility extends to the kitchen, where European oak cabinetry meets white-and-black Arabescato Vagli marble countertops and backsplash. Fantini chrome fixtures and integrated Miele appliances, including a vented gas cooktop and built-in microwave, complete the kitchen ensemble.

Two quiet, north-facing bedrooms, both equipped with large closets, provide daylight and privacy at the end of a gallery. Designed to delight, the primary suite includes a huge walk-in wardrobe and a stunning en-suite bathroom that evokes the carved walls of a quarry. The incredibly spacious, spa-like primary bathroom is finished in Travertino Silver Roman marble surrounding the walk-in rain shower and floating double vanity. The second bathroom similarly reflects luxury and sophistication.

Kips Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

If you take a walk through Kips Bay, which is loosely defined as the area between 23rd street and 34th street and the East River to almost Lexington, you’ll quickly learn it's a hodgepodge of sorts and not as well defined as other neighborhoods in New York City. Some New Yorkers say Kips Bay has an identity crisis because 1st, 2nd, and 3rd avenues are distinctly different from one another as you traverse them. Despite the perceived lack of neighborhood vibe there are others that appreciate its affordability and convenience.

First Avenue is dominated by hospitals and hospital buildings such as NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital to name a few. Second Avenue is a mosaic of convenience stores, fast food joints and nondescript brick buildings. Third Avenue is saturated with small bars and gastropubs and the twenty somethings that patronize them.

No judgement against Kips Bay here. It’s a great neighborhood that is just as much a part of New York City as any other neighborhood. Kips Bay It’s bordered by Murray Hill to the North, Stuyvesant Town and Gramercy Park to the South, and Rose Hill to the West. The neighborhood is partly defined by newer high-rise apartments, brick rowhouses, and former tenement buildings.
