Property Description for 425 East 51st Street, 2-G

This is a special move-in ready renovated apartment with high-beamed ceilings, beautiful hardwood floors with cherry borders and tall entry ways into the rooms of the apartment which make it feel open and airy. There is a large spacious living room with a kitchen and new appliances off the living room. Every room in the apartment, including the kitchen and bath, has a city window, all of which are new. The master bedroom is large with ample room for a desk and a reading chair. There are four spacious custom closets that go from floor to ceiling. The apartment has limited views but is pin-drop quiet and overlooks an inner courtyard. Its second floor location makes it easily accessible at all times by elevator or a short flight of stairs.

Beekman Hill House is a pre-war boutique building in the prestigious Beekman Place neighborhood. Porters accept deliveries from 8 am to midnight and there is video security, a live-in super and a neighborhood patrol at night. The building has a renovated central laundry and there are storage units and bike storage in the basement. There is also a garden for residents in the back of the building. Pieds-a-terre are permitted but parents buying for children is not. The building is pet friendly. 80% financing is permitted. There is a flip tax of 2%, payable by the seller.

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
