Property Description for 53 White Street, PH

Spectacular! Atop the landmarked cast-iron masterpiece 53 White Street, The TriBeCa Heritage, sits another exemplary feat of imagination and modern design, the duplex Penthouse. Surrounded entirely by private outdoor spaces and floor-to-ceiling walls of glass, the spectacular play of light and the surrounding TriBeCa architecture is a visual feast, day and night. No attention to design and detail was spared in constructing this exceptional home atop this 1857 Landmark cast iron structure which has undergone a complete renovation and restoration conversion to seven immaculate residences, all spoken for, but for the proverbial crown jewel. The penthouse, accessible via elevator on two floors, reveals itself in layers, allowing each room to establish its individual features and significance in creating a home that defines comfort and luxury. The upper level showcases a masterful composition of a large open kitchen, living, dining, and media rooms, as well as a huge patio seamlessly connecting the interior to the outdoors. The lower level of the penthouse comprises the private quarters, including the primary suite, three additional bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, and a home office which can also serve as the fifth bedroom, including its own bathroom. The apogee of this home is the rooftop terrace where you are at once removed from the urban setting and yet dazzled by its surrounding architecture. This immense space, replete with an outdoor fireplace, a full kitchen, a bathroom, and a shower, allows you to create an oasis suitable for your cozy morning coffee surrounded by greenery or a glam gathering of friends for an al fresco dinner and retreat. The material finishes of the residence are of the most select quality. The flooring throughout is stunning Siberian rift-cut, quarter-sawn white oak. The kitchen is clad in Statuario marble, and features integrated Miele and Subzero appliances. An extensive, cutting-edge LED “warm-to-dim” lighting system creates sublime ambiance with accent lights, wall-washers, and cove-lighting throughout. The bathrooms feature an exquisite mix of marble, limestone and slate tiling, and Mirabelle and Fantini fixtures. All full bathroom have radiant heated floors. The residence is fully wired for audio, lighting, and climate control by Savant automation system. Multi-zone central air-conditioning and heating as well as an integrated water filtration system round out all the conveniences of modern living. The landmarked building includes a comprehensive, superbly appointed fitness center and spa. Residents can enjoy a full workout, a steam room with chromotherapy and aromatherapy technology, an infrared sauna, and a private massage room. Large storage rooms are available for every residence. 53 White Street is conveniently located in the epicenter of iconic TriBeCa—moments from the Hudson River Park (and the new Google and Disney offices) and all public transportation, restaurants, entertainment, parking, and neighborhood amenities—and in close proximity to both Soho and the spectacular, evolving Lower Manhattan with its recently opened Casa Cipriani Club and Spa.

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
