Property Description for 10 White Street, 3-FLR

Nestled on one of the most desirable streets in Tribeca, this 5-story, cast-iron beauty sits apart. Originally designed by architect Henry Fernbach, built in 1870 and converted in 1983, this loft is rare. Offering over 40 feet of frontage facing south, this beautifully proportioned loft is one of a kind. Spanning just over 3,000 square feet, this private full floor loft is accessed through an elegantly maintained arrival with a keyed elevator entry. Featuring over 12 foot ceilings clad in original painted tin, this sprawling Living Room boasts an open floor plan that spans the entire width of the building. Heightened by the most breathtaking, almost 10 foot deep-set, arched windows that flank the entire great room, bathing this loft in superb light.

This sprawling loft features central A/C, an open dining area, library, and an oversized, Boffi Kitchen with stainless steel appliances to include Miele and Subzero. Gaggenau 5-burner gas range with hood, Gaggenau dishwasher, as well as double sinks and a large stainless steel island within the kitchen that allows for ample storage and integrated cabinetry. A large laundry room with LG side by side washer and dryer. The informal open library area adjoins to the bedroom wing. A second bedroom, and an adjoining bathroom are split layout from the primary, providing great privacy. Alongside a secluded media room den, offering the best of both worlds, as well as ample space and sound-insulated walls for home office. The primary bedroom is flanked by closets and a fully outfitted primary bathroom that is for the most discerning buyer, featuring a seamless, glass structure that houses separate shower, toilet and vanity in a minimal and very sophisticated way. All the bathrooms are finished in marble and contain Geberit toilets as well as Boffi and Duravit fixtures.

Currently, the 3rd bedroom is being used as a gym. The central heat and AC system is self-contained within the loft. This residence is wired and integrated with home audio, as well as a video intercom system. Incredibly low carrying cost of $3,025 monthly maintenance, 10 White Street also benefits from having no underlying mortgage.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
