Property Description for 62 Beach Street, 3-AB

Meticulous in every detail, this newly renovated five-bedroom, four-and-one-half bathroom Tribeca loft is a luxurious sanctuary and entertainer's dream in one. Featuring sophisticated designer finishes, original architectural details, shimmering river views and an enviable location, residence #3AB is one of the most exquisite New York City homes available today. Inside the 4,000-square-foot showplace, soaring exposed beam ceilings boast three inches of soundproofing for an otherworldly sense of peace. Ten-inch bleached walnut floors run beneath exposed brick walls, while 15 oversized windows and glass doors capture light and views to the north, west and south. A gracious entry opens to the expansive great room, an unrivaled destination for anyone who loves to gather and celebrate. Relax alongside a distinctive blackened steel gas fireplace and windows that frame unobstructed, protected water vistas. Plan your next dinner party in the large dining area, and enjoy plenty of room for games and additional seating. Refreshments are always nearby, thanks to a chic wet bar with a Sub-Zero ice maker and three climate-controlled Stella wine refrigerators with LED lighting. The massive open kitchen impresses with custom cabinetry wrought from reclaimed wood and blackened steel and finished with Cristallo White quartzite countertops, imported Buster + Punch hardware and Watermark brass faucets. Chefs will love the state-of-the-art appliances, including an eight-burner Wolf range with double ovens and a pot filler, a Miele dishwasher, Sub-Zero refrigerator and refrigerator drawer. The waterfall island welcomes casual meals while custom steel and glass doors conceal an adjacent powder room, laundry room and pantry. The home's private quarters are separated from the entertainment areas by a second gallery entry culminating in a sun-splashed seating area and Juliet balcony. Ahead, explore the showstopping owner's retreat, a palatial space where preparing for life in the most exciting city in the world is effortless. Sleep soundly in the south-facing king-size bedroom and start the day in the breathtaking glam room/dressing room flanked by a convenient morning bar. The huge walk-in closet is worthy of a fashion editor's wardrobe, while the en suite bathroom boasts a lava stone rain shower, soaking tub, a custom concrete vanity, and a private water closet. Hardwood floors transition to a distinctive hexagonal tile pattern, while custom steel mirrors and doors continue the home's subtly industrial aesthetic. The bedroom wing also includes a home office, a spacious junior suite with a private spa bath, plus two more bedrooms that share a full hall bathroom. Each secondary bedroom opens to a wraparound courtyard balcony, while each bathroom includes a custom vanity, Watermark fixtures and gorgeous tile. Across the living room, folding doors reveal a fifth bedroom with an attached full bathroom and foyer access perfect as a guest suite, media room or den. Enjoy a life of effortless comfort and convenience thanks to central HVAC, Sonos sound and a fully integrated Control4 system that oversees Lutron lighting, blinds and A/V equipment. Built in 1860, 62 Beach Street is a stunning Italianate store-and-loft building that has housed a ship chandlery, rice company, and its namesake Fischer Mills' tea, coffee and spice business. Reimagined as luxury condominiums in 2001, the building offers full-time doorman and live-in superintendent service, storage, a bike room and Fios access. From this quaint Belgian-block street in the Tribeca West Historic District, you're surrounded by the shopping, dining and nightlife Tribeca, Hudson Square and SoHo have to offer. A block away, enjoy Hudson River Park's 500 acres of waterfront outdoor space and recreation. Transportation options are abundant with 1, A/C/E, N/Q/R/W, J/Z and 6 trains, excellent bus service, CitiBike stations and the Holland Tunnel all nearby.

Tribeca | Manhattan

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
