Property Description for 860 United Nations Plaza, 33/34B

Striking and elegant duplex home with spectacular views from every room.

33/34B at 860 United Nations Plaza is a beautiful corner residence with three large bedrooms and three-and-a-half bathrooms. A grand foyer gallery sets a warm and inviting tone as you walk in, flowing seamlessly into the living room. A built-in bar and gas vented fireplace coupled with the large windows and panoramic views makes this the perfect spot to both relax and entertain, while the formal dining room next door can very easily and comfortably accommodate large dinner parties. There is a thoughtful separation of space all throughout, and there are two access points into the massive eat-in kitchen which is conjoined with a breakfast area and media den. Complete with an array of high-end appliances, any chef would enjoy preparing a meal in this spacious kitchen while admiring the views.

Ascend the picturesque stairway or utilize the private elevator to reach all three bedrooms, each with their own dedicated ensuite bathrooms, nestled on the upper level of this home. The primary bedroom has a stunning onyx four-fixture bathroom, a huge walk-in-closet, and an office nook. Each secondary bedroom has their own resplendent built-ins and custom millwork, and one is currently serving as the library. Magnificent Northern and Eastern views and sophisticated interiors characterize this apartment.

This apartment comes with an in-unit washer and dryer.

United Nations Plaza is one of the city's most iconic modernist classic buildings designed and built in 1966 by esteemed architects Wallace Harrison and Max Abramovitz, who also designed the United Nations Headquarters and the Metropolitan Opera House. Comprised of two identical towers standing at the edge of the East River, there is an impressive lineup of amenities to cater to any want and need. There is a huge staff composed of full-time concierge, doorman, resident manager, and an on-site management office in addition to a fitness center, Pilates studio, golf stimulator, four sundecks, library, conference rooms, private storage, valet service, parking garage, private full-block driveway, and Club 39 - a recreational center and lounge for residents to enjoy and socialize.

860 United Nations Plaza is pet-friendly and permits 50% financing, pied-a-terres, purchasing in a Qualified Personal Residential Trust, and foreign purchasing with U.S. based assets.

Beekman Place | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Beekman Place is less of a neighborhood than it is a quiet two-block enclave just north of the United Nations on the far eastern edge of Turtle Bay. There is only one street that runs through the neighborhood, also called Beekman Place, that wraps itself around 49th Street and 51st Street.

This bucolic little stretch of the east side has always been a cherished spot for those fortunate enough to have found refuge here. The noise and the street traffic from the city surrounds is virtually non-existent as there are no through streets in this neighborhood.

The neighborhood composition largely consists of a few clusters of townhouses and prewar co-ops. The exception to the rule is the charming art-deco-styled Beekman Place Hotel at the corner of First Avenue and 49th Street and the two post-war towers, 860 and 870 UN Plaza that front the grounds of the United Nations.
