Property Description for 25 Tudor City Place, 1016

This 10th-floor studio offers beautiful views and the perfect Tudor City location. You’ll be captivated by this beautiful home’s unique combination of classic details and space-conscious features. In the main living space, the convenient built-ins and large Murphy bed-storage unit free up floor space while oversized, original casement windows let in ample western light and delightful Tudor City Park views. The renovated marble bathroom features elegant tilework, modern fixtures, a roomy vanity and a full-sized bathtub. A stainless steel counter-height refrigerator, microwave, two-burner electric cooktop and ample cabinet space allow for a surprising array of cooking options, but the real star of the kitchen is the expandable counter that extends to provide breakfast bar seating or workspace as needed. Newly refinished hardwood floors and two custom closets round out this home’s attractive amenities. Pied-a-terres, co-purchasing, gifting and guarantors are allowed. 25 Tudor City Place is a completely smoke-free building, and welcomes cats but not dogs. Electricity, heat, and water are included in the monthly maintenance. There is an additional assessment of $393 per month through May 2024, which the seller will cover in full. Dating to 1929, this historic Gothic Revival building features an intricately designed facade and a grand lobby with artful stained glass windows and dark wood accents. The very convenient location is in the heart of Midtown Manhattan but set on a tranquil tree-lined street directly across from the privately owned Tudor City Park and Garden. There is a full-time doorman and on-site amenities include a roof deck with stunning Midtown views, a laundry room, a bike room, and common storage. The Midtown office district and vibrant restaurant scene of First and Second Avenues are blocks away and nearby Grand Central Station provides rapid transportation anywhere in New York.

Tudor City | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Compared to other New York City neighborhoods Tudor City is a bit different. For starters, it's not very big. And technically it's not a neighborhood, it's more along the lines of a residential enclave of Tudor style buildings and parks. Even with the large neon sign boldly exclaiming the enclave's name, Tudor CIty is still a little tricky to find.

Located on the southern edge of Turtle Bay, Tudor City borders Murray Hill and lies on a low cliff which is just east of Second Avenue between 40th and 43rd Street. It overlooks the grounds of the United Nations along First Avenue and the East River beyond.

Tudor City is considered one of the world’s first skyscraper apartment complexes. This was considered a remarkable feat in 1929. Early marketing material, aimed at the middle class, described the development as well-planned, well-built, and well-priced housing. Developer Fred F. Finch designed Tudor City to keep middle class residents in Manhattan as many were fleeing the city for the suburbs.
