Property Description for 114 West 27th Street, 11-S

Opportunity Knocks | Authentic and Expansive Chelsea 2BR Loft Rarely does an authentic loft residence with soaring 10-foot ceilings on a high floor become available. Sunlight pours in through tall new windows on both the southern and western sides, bathing the space in natural light throughout the day, moonlight in the evenings, with beautiful sunsets in between. This pristine blank canvas presents endless possibilities, as illustrated by two alternative floor plans. These layouts offer two spacious bedrooms, two full bathrooms, an open kitchen with a breakfast/lunch counter, and an expansive 22'8" x 33'2" living and dining area. The primary bedroom, located in the corner, boasts dual exposures, generous closet space, and a dressing area that leads to a luxurious ensuite bathroom with white tiles, a window, double sinks, and a tub. The second bathroom features a deep industrial steel sink, a shower stall, and a stacked washer/dryer. Abundant closet space is complemented by a private storage area that is included in the sale. Nestled in the heart of Chelsea, at the crossroads of Flatiron and Nomad, this 12-story boutique co-op comprises just 18 homes. Originally constructed in 1907, it was converted into a co-op in 1981, offering half-floors as raw space through the December Artists Corp. Many of these spaces served as live/work homes for artists and photographers. The flexible co-op allows for up to 80% financing, and pets are welcome with board approval. The neighborhood offers a plethora of shopping, gallery, and dining options within easy reach. There is currently an ongoing monthly assessment of $1,450.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
