Property Description for 100 West 15th Street, 2-F

Apartment 2F at 100 West 15th Street is a rare find - and a must-see.

If you've been looking for something that truly stands out from the pack, that lives like a one-bedroom on a studio budget, in a great location, and in move-in condition - you've found it. To step into the living room is to grasp immediately what pictures can only hint at: the incredible sense of space and light from 14-foot ceilings and an enormous window that extends upward nearly the full height of an 11' window opening. These attributes are only found together on the most-coveted second floor at 100 W 15th - and rare anywhere, at any price, and rarer still under $700K in such a prime location.

Up in the sleeping loft, the extra ceiling height also makes a world of difference. At 6' - there's ample clearance for a great many to stand comfortably. With generous dimensions of 11' 12,' the loft space has plenty of room to walk around virtually any size bed, with enough room left over to create an ideal spot for a desk or home office area overlooking the living area below, and enjoying the view from that enormous window.

On both levels, storage abounds. On the main level, there's a walk-in closet, storage under the stairs, plus a pantry. Up in the loft, there's a double-width closet. The building also offers storage cages in the basement level, for a modest monthly fee, plus bicycle storage.

Overlooking a quiet, leafy block of West 15th Street, Apt 2F is move-in ready, with pristine hardwood floors and a fully updated kitchen.

And it's all in a location that's an absolute dream. Situated right where Chelsea meets Greenwich Village, you're only minutes away from tons of cool downtown dining, shopping, and exploring. Walk North into Chelsea and Flatiron, South to Greenwich Village, Noho, and Soho, East to Union Square, and West to the Meatpackng District and the High Line. It's all just a few minutes away.

You'll also have practically every subway line right at your fingertips, with nearby express stops at 14th Street - and a Citibike station right at your front door. Built originally in 1900 as a knitting factory, 100 West 15th today is a well-maintained and architecturally distinctive pre-war coop. The building is pet-friendly, with in-building laundry, and video intercom security.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
