Property Description for 62 Beach Street, 2-D

AVAILABLE MARCH 1st, 2024 (upon board approval)

This impeccably designed 2 bed / 2.5 bath loft with private balcony and terrace is located in the Fischer Mills Building in the heart of prime Tribeca. Located in what was a 19th century spice warehouse, this home boasts classic details including maple flooring, rough-hewn wood columns, beams with hand-chiseled joinery, and exposed brick which all pay homage to the building's origin. The expansive home boasts 9"11 high ceilings, light from all four exposures, floor-to-ceiling windows, and French doors.

Entertain in style in the home's large living / dining room featuring a wall of west-facing windows offering view of Greenwich Street and sunset vistas on the Hudson River. Relax and watch your favorite films in the adjacent media area, and prepare meals in the large open chef's kitchen. Enjoy slow mornings in the whisper-quiet double-size master suite offering a private 24' terrace, separate balcony, and an enormous built-in dressing room with an accompanying pass-through fitted closet. The spa-like master bath boasts radiant heated floors, double vanities, a soaking tub, and separate glass-enclosed shower.

An extensive custom renovation was recently performed and the home was outfitted with modern amenities. The kitchen has been appointed with custom millwork and features a Viking oven, Sub-Zero refrigerator, Bosch dishwasher, Virginia Mist honed granite, and Calacatta Gold marble backsplash. A Whirlpool washer/dryer is tucked away just off the kitchen. A built-in bar in the great room is fitted with classic black granite, 'Sable' onyx, polished mosaic tile, solid wood paneled custom millwork, and dual wine refrigerators. The master bath features a Calacatta marble double-vanity with a Waterworks soaking tub, and complementary fixtures. Additionally, a stunning wallpapered powder room is outfitted with a Bordiglio marble countertop and backsplash.

Pets considered on a case by case basis.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
