A once in a lifetime opportunity and available for the first time ever! This rare and spacious corner A/B combination on the 31st floor at the esteemed J Condominium offers over 2,500sqft of open living space with 270-degree views of the Manhattan skyline, the East River, Manhattan Bridge and beyond. With soaring 10'ceilings and floor to ceiling windows facing north, west, and east, it feels like you are floating above DUMBO in this home. Originally purchased and combined by the builder of the development, this 3 bedroom (easily convertible to 4 bedroom), 3.5 bathroom is in mint condition and has only been used as a pied a terre since originally being combined. High end upgrades were done throughout like walnut hardwood flooring, custom motorized shades, large walk-in closets, Nest powered central air and heat, and upgraded Viking appliances. The unit also comes with an extra-large storage cage.

As you enter through the grand foyer of the apartment, you are immediately greeted by the unobstructed views out of the open living and dining spaces of the great room. Within the foyer is a proper powder room and large walk-in closet, and as you enter the great room, you have your open concept U shaped kitchen with black granite countertops, custom millwork cabinetry, Viking 5 burner gas range and hood, Viking under counter microwave, Sub Zero refrigerator and freezer, and Viking Dishwasher. The great room boasts a width of 40' of open space to allocate to a proper 10-person dining table, a formal sitting area plus a separate living room. Or easily convert the living room space into a spacious 4th bedroom or office with unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline.

On the eastern wing of the apartment, you'll find the spacious primary bedroom and second bedroom with direct eastern views of Manhattan and the river. The primary bedroom features a large walk-in closet and smaller reach in closet, as well as a large en-suite bathroom with soaking tub, standing shower and dual sinks. The large second bedroom also has a walk-in closet, a second reach in closet and a large bathroom off the entry with soaking tub, standing shower and dual sinks also. There is even an extra coat closet located in the hallway for all your storage needs.

On the western wing of the apartment, you'll find the third bedroom with double reach in closet and bathroom and direct western views. Outside this bedroom you'll find the in-unit washer and dryer, and the third full bathroom with dual shower and tub and large linen closet.

Dumbo | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

DUMBO, which is an acronym for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass, used to be a lively industrial and manufacturing zone, full of large factories and warehouses. These buildings have now been converted into expansive lofts, theaters, galleries, and office spaces for start-up companies. These larger residential spaces are attractive to families and creative artists and writers who need space to dream and create.

DUMBO was named in 1978 as a sort of reverse marketing ploy to try to keep people from swarming into the area, attracted by the quaint tree-lined streets, elegant historic brownstones, large lofts, and views of Lower Manhattan. It was felt that this influx of people would change the nature of the neighborhood. It was hoped that by giving the area a ridiculous name, nobody would want to live there.

Many of the neighborhood’s bars, hotels, and restaurants capitalize on the stunning waterfront views and the Manhattan skyline in the background. Interesting and fun cultural events are held under and around the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges that connect DUMBO to Manhattan. One of these is the annual Oktoberfest.

With beautiful vignettes of the Manhattan and Brooklyn Bridges being framed around every corner, DUMBO provides residents and tourists with charming, and often surprising, views. Because the neighborhood is eminently walkable and filled with unique shops, it feels like a small town on the edge of a major urban waterfront. Once people move to DUMBO, they tend to stay and become involved in the community.
