Property Description for 61 78th Street

Welcome to 61 78th Street. This immaculate colonial beauty was tastefully redesigned and renovated.

A lovely foyer greets you upon entering with French doors, where you can comfortably remove shoes and store coats in your coat closet. You continue into the bright front entry hall, where a cluster of curved elongated bay windows overlooking your front garden welcome you. Perfect for reading a book, social media scrolling, a catch up on your day spot.

The elegance continues straight into your sprawling first floor living room layout. It offers beautiful original refinished oak hardwood floors, high ceilings with recessed lighting, new crown molding, new paint and oversize windows with custom window treatments throughout.

Your formal dining room is spacious with unique access to the lower level via a custom oak stairway. Just one of two ways of getting to your lower level. Another plus is a hidden half bath on the main floor.

Enjoy cooking in your new white eat-in kitchen which overlooks not just the entire first floor layout, but your newly fenced Zen backyard garden oasis, professionally designed by a landscape designer. Offering custom cabinetry throughout with an abundance of storage, imported Italian backsplash tile, plenty of prepping space on your sleek white Quartz countertops including a large breakfast bar island. Your yard is easily accessible through the kitchen onto your maintenance free Trex deck. Great for hosting summer BBQs and spring brunches.

The upper level offers a unique layout. Currently used as an expansive two bedroom with a massive custom-built Closet Room that can easily be transformed back into a third bedroom (See floorplans). This level also offers a new full bathroom with Quartz counter top vanity and lots of storage. You have access to an unfinished full attic which has a blank canvas for you to finish to your liking, potentially turning into a fourth room.

The lower level was designed to feel as part of the living space. With access from within the home and its own outside entrance. Delightfully bright, this pristine space offers use for another bedroom, den, recreation room, fitness area, office, and more. With high ceilings, recessed light, new windows, new white floor porcelain tiles throughout, open laundry room with new washer and gas dryer just outside your new second full bathroom with plenty of storage. Additionally, there is a large hidden L-shaped Costco Closet and your very own separate utility workshop room. Great for DYI projects, crafting and more. IT IS IMMACULATE!

Additional home features are new electrical, new plumbing, new outlets with USB chargers, new gas meter, new ring doorbell security system, new split unit systems throughout, new roof on BOTH home and GARAGE, auto garage door
opener, new washer and gas dryer, new white PVC fence around yard and more.

Bay Ridge | Brooklyn

Lush front yards and trimmed hedges are pretty common in Bay Ridge.

Quick Profile

Bay Ridge is an old-world neighborhood neatly tucked into the southwest corner of Brooklyn within the shadows of the Verrazano Bridge. The neighborhood is encircled by the Belt Parkway along the shore line and the Gowanus Expressway inland.

Bay Ridge, long known for its generational pull, has historically been home to a diverse number of ethnic groups. While the area is flush with people of Irish, Italian and Greek descent, these ethnic communities have been joined by larger numbers of new groups, including people with Russian, Polish, Asian and Middle Eastern backgrounds. The Arab American community today in Bay Ridge represents the largest concentration of Arab Americans in New York City.

For many years, Bay Ridge and its waterside location, would attract the affluent. But most of the mansions that once lined Shore Road are long gone and have been replaced by six-story apartment buildings.

Aside from the low-rise apartment buildings, the neighborhood pretty much consists of one and two-family homes. Lush front yards and trimmed hedges are pretty common here.

Current zoning and limitations on building heights restrict any out of the norm development. At present, the future beholds small development on some of the commercial strips and teardowns of older homes for smaller residential projects.
