Property Description for 5 Tudor City Place, 1427

Sunny and Quiet Corner Studio in Tudor City to Sublet. With spectacular views of the East River and UN, watch the water shimmer and the boats glide by along the East River from this impeccably renovated fully furnished studio facing North and East. Recently renovated with double-paned noise-abatement windows, the unit is extremely quiet. The unusual L shaped floor plan (only 2 units per floor feature this layout) gives the advantage of a long entryway, containing the bathroom and two closets, including one large walkin. The hallway opens to a spacious and charming living area where an open alcove that once sported a murphy bed, now contains the American Leather fold out queen sofa bed with a comfortable TempurPedic mattress. Recent updates include an expanded open kitchen with breakfast bar, custom cabinetry, ceramic mini mosaic tile backsplash, stainless steel appliances including a convection microwave oven, extra-large mini fridge and freezer, a 2 burner electric glass cooktop and water filtration system. Additional upgrades include a new through the wall HVAC system, electric fireplace, black out window shades, and refinished floors. The newly updated bathroom is pristine and contains a stylishly updated classic vessel sink and fixture in keeping with the Pre-War glamor original to the building. Windsor Tower is a breathtaking example of Tudor Architecture set back from the bustle of NYC in a prime location loaded with perks and conveniences: an attentive staff, Lobby convenience store, Cafe, Post Office and dry cleaner are all either in or adjacent to the building. Located nearby are a nail salon, Conrad’s bike shop, and The Tudor Steakhouse. A welcome respite minutes from Grand Central, this cul-de-sac contains a peaceful vibe with its tree-lined streets and privately maintained parks. This tranquil location is mere minutes from all of the action, fine dining, and transportation. The coop features a 24 hour doorman, live-in resident manager, laundry room, and a gym (for a fee.) Utilities (except FIOS or Spectrum cable) are included in the rent. Please note that this is a coop sublet and only 1 year leases will be considered. There is a board package to submit, and no pets nor smoking permitted.

Tudor City | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Compared to other New York City neighborhoods Tudor City is a bit different. For starters, it's not very big. And technically it's not a neighborhood, it's more along the lines of a residential enclave of Tudor style buildings and parks. Even with the large neon sign boldly exclaiming the enclave's name, Tudor CIty is still a little tricky to find.

Located on the southern edge of Turtle Bay, Tudor City borders Murray Hill and lies on a low cliff which is just east of Second Avenue between 40th and 43rd Street. It overlooks the grounds of the United Nations along First Avenue and the East River beyond.

Tudor City is considered one of the world’s first skyscraper apartment complexes. This was considered a remarkable feat in 1929. Early marketing material, aimed at the middle class, described the development as well-planned, well-built, and well-priced housing. Developer Fred F. Finch designed Tudor City to keep middle class residents in Manhattan as many were fleeing the city for the suburbs.
