Property Description for 100 Eleventh Ave, 16-A

Jean Nouvel's architectural gem is inspired by the stained-glass windows of the Sacre Coeur Cathedral in his hometown of Paris. With this 1950sqft 3Bed/3.5Bath apartment, the glass geometric mosaics of each window are a different size and shape, making for the most dramatic views and sunsets overlooking the Hudson.

16A is the highest floor of the A-line, and the most coveted layout thanks to its perfect positioning at the tip of the building. Triple exposures give direct views of the Hudson River facing West, the Empire State facing East, and Hudson Yards facing North. The enormous entertaining space opens to an Italian chef's kitchen by Valcucine, with all stainless-steel counters and cabinetry complemented by a moveable island. 11ft ceilings and unique terrazzo marble floors reflect light all day long.

The sun-filled primary bedroom is separated from the main living space by an accordion door allowing for privacy or lofty openness, and the luxurious primary bath features dual vanities and a separate (windowed) soaking tub and shower stall. The other bathrooms are stylishly outfitted with Kohler fixtures, paneled entirely in Corian, and the apartment is equipped with motorized shades throughout.

100 Eleventh is an exclusive full-service building that welcomes you with an updated lobby designed by the architect himself. Amenities include a full gym, a 70-foot heated indoor/outdoor pool, as well as a bike room, an onsite concierge, and a resident manager. Perfectly located in the best section of West Chelsea, the building is surrounded by many top art galleries, the Highline, Chelsea Market, and the Meatpacking district which is just a few blocks to the south.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
