Property Description for 251 East 32nd Street, 5-J

This recently renovated home is sunny, spacious, remarkably quiet, and boasts ample closet and storage space. Featuring wide-plank white oak floors and charming views of townhouse gardens through expansive windows, the apartment exudes a bright and cheerful atmosphere. Upon entry, the proper foyer creates a sense of home, gracefully dividing the living space from the bedroom. As you enter the living area, you are basked in light from a wall of west-facing windows. The living room is spacious with room for a dining area that accommodates six. Off the living room, the windowed kitchen showcases new pale-gray porcelain tile floors, Cambria quartz countertops and backsplash, generous cabinetry and counter space, and new appliances including a Bosch dishwasher, Samsung oven and microwave, and GE refrigerator. With a flexible layout, the kitchen can be opened to the living room with a breakfast bar. On the opposite end of the apartment lies the bedroom, which is large and easily accommodates a king size bed with room for additional furniture. This room benefits from excellent natural light through northern and western exposures and features two extra-large closets, including a walk-in. The newly renovated bathroom is conveniently located just outside the bedroom for easy guest access. Riverview East is a full-service co-op located on a tree-lined block filled with charming townhouses. The building offers a newly renovated lobby, 24-hour door attendant, live-in resident manager, laundry room, garage, and bike storage. Pets and subletting are permitted with some restrictions. Situated in the heart of Kips Bay, the building benefits from proximity to a diverse array of restaurants, bars, cafes, and shops, with easy access to Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Fairway, AMC Kips Bay 15-plex, NYU Langone Medical Center, Target, Equinox, and Crunch. Proximate to major buses and subways including the 6 train, and an easy commute to Grand Central, the location cannot be beat.

Kips Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

If you take a walk through Kips Bay, which is loosely defined as the area between 23rd street and 34th street and the East River to almost Lexington, you’ll quickly learn it's a hodgepodge of sorts and not as well defined as other neighborhoods in New York City. Some New Yorkers say Kips Bay has an identity crisis because 1st, 2nd, and 3rd avenues are distinctly different from one another as you traverse them. Despite the perceived lack of neighborhood vibe there are others that appreciate its affordability and convenience.

First Avenue is dominated by hospitals and hospital buildings such as NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital to name a few. Second Avenue is a mosaic of convenience stores, fast food joints and nondescript brick buildings. Third Avenue is saturated with small bars and gastropubs and the twenty somethings that patronize them.

No judgement against Kips Bay here. It’s a great neighborhood that is just as much a part of New York City as any other neighborhood. Kips Bay It’s bordered by Murray Hill to the North, Stuyvesant Town and Gramercy Park to the South, and Rose Hill to the West. The neighborhood is partly defined by newer high-rise apartments, brick rowhouses, and former tenement buildings.
