Property Description for 237 Devoe Street, 3

Nestled on a quiet East Williamsburg side street, you’ll find a stunning home unlike any other. This huge loft-like one-bedroom, one-and-a-half-bathroom delivers magazine-worthy interiors, premium finishes and a major wow factor you’ll want to see for yourself. Spanning over 1,000 square feet — nearly twice as big as most one bedrooms — this designer residence draws you in with 20-foot-tall ceilings and a jaw-dropping wall of windows capturing open-sky southern views. Open the accordion glass doors, and the entire great room opens to a wide balcony and adjacent planted roof area. Generous living, dining and home office areas enjoy sun-drenched style in the heart of Brooklyn. The light and airy ambiance is underscored by pale wide-plank walnut floors and expansive, white art walls waiting to show off your prized collection of prints and paintings. The open gourmet kitchen is sure to become a favorite gathering place with its massive new waterfall island in chic gray Carrara marble. Custom-made sky-blue cabinets surround updated stainless steel appliances, including a Bertazzoni induction range, LG French door refrigerator and new Whirlpool microwave. Under-stair storage, a large coat closet and a powder room complete the main level. A work-of-art staircase composed of glass handrails with wood treads and risers ascends to the full-height lofted bedroom, where you’ll enjoy plenty of room for a king-size bed alongside two large closets. The en suite full bathroom impresses with a contemporary vanity and deep soaking tub/shower surrounded by stylish fixtures and designer tile. A separate entrance and a full-size stacked washer and vented dryer add convenience to this floor, while motorized blinds and central HVAC control light and temperature in this one-of-a-kind East Williamsburg showplace. Unit 3 is located just one flight up off a semi-private vestibule in a boutique condominium designed by architect James Cleary. From the street, the residence’s commanding southern exposures give the building the impression of a single-family home rather than a six-unit enclave. Residents of the pet-friendly building enjoy virtual doorman entry and a shared roof deck with panoramic views. Ideally situated on a beautiful block where East Williamsburg, Williamsburg and Greenpoint meet, this fine home is surrounded by outstanding amenities, including Metropolitan Avenue shops, restaurants and nightlife venues just a block away. Nearby, Cooper Park delivers a dog run, skate park, sports courts and playgrounds, and local concert venues, galleries and beloved McCarren Park are all within reach. Catch the Graham Avenue L train five minutes from your door and reach Manhattan in just three stops, while the G train, excellent bus service, CitiBikes and the BQE provide easy access to wherever your travels take you.

East Williamsburg | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

East Williamsburg is a mixed industrial neighborhood in Brooklyn, with many working factories that make everything from beer and wontons to clothing and concrete. You are likely to hear screeching, pounding and the deep thump of industrial machinery throughout the day. East Williamsburg has become a haven for artists and musicians of every description, who are attracted to the large open loft spaces of the converted industrial buildings. The area has attracted a younger crowd of 20- and 30-somethings that are drawn by affordable rents and a generally lower cost of living.

There is a rich history of immigrants from Puerto Rico and Italy, and oddly enough, they chose to settle on opposite ends of Graham Avenue, with the Italians on the north and the Puerto Ricans on the south.

Housing in the area consists of mid-rise apartment buildings, row houses, and public housing complexes. There are also smaller multi-family apartment buildings available. Lofts are becoming more prevalent as the older, abandoned factory buildings come up for sale and are converted into residential properties.

East Williamsburgfairly pulses with a creative vibe. There are unique shopping venues, numerous tiny coffee shops, interesting restaurants, and cafes, along with food trucks that frequent the area. The grocery stores are affordable and carry a wide variety of goods that appeal to the eclectic tastes of the neighborhood residents.

There is a vibrant bar scene, where you will find mostly local residents imbibing, so it is easy to make friends among your neighbors if you stop in frequently at your favorite watering hole. There are many interesting shops, bars and restaurants tucked in amongst the warehouses and factories. Many do not invest in elaborate signage, so it can be difficult to find some of the best spots. Keep an eye out for hand-painted signs on the sides of buildings with arrows pointing to nondescript, nearly invisible entrances.
