Property Description for 355 Saint Marks Ave, 3

This sunny floor-through 3-bedroom, 2.5 bathroom condominium truly has it all, including a private elevator landing area for effortless access to your new home.

A warm entry hallway with ample storage, including a coat closet and walk-in hall pantry, leads into an oversized living/dining room, enhanced by extra side windows and an open, sleek kitchen. The Kraus sink, Viking fridge, and Wolf oven and stove provide a sophisticated contrast against the grey marble countertops and navy cabinets. A lengthy breakfast bar runs along the width of the kitchen, creating the perfect spot for dining and entertaining. The terrace, conveniently located off this area, offers views of backyards and greenery.

To the right of the elevator landing, a hallway leads to a half bath, laundry room with mess sink, and three bedrooms. The first two sunny bedrooms each feature ample closet space and windows with a full bath situated between the rooms. The primary suite, located at the end of the hallway, boasts two generous closets and a large en suite bath with two sinks and a walk-in steam shower with a built-in bench. All closets are outfitted with California Closet systems. Recessed lighting throughout and light oak hardwood floors complement the modern comforts of this beautiful home, including a multi-zone ductless HVAC system and tankless water heating. In addition to copious in-unit storage options, the condo comes with a personal storage unit located in the basement of the building.

The immediate area has become one of the top destinations in Brooklyn, with local coffee shops and restaurants such as the Bearded Lady, Little Egg, and Gertrude's popping up along trendy Washington Avenue and Vanderbilt Avenue just a short stroll away.

355 St. Marks Avenue sits on a quiet side street, just a short distance from the B and Q trains at 7th Avenue or the 2 and 3 trains at Grand Army Plaza. Nearby, Prospect Park, the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, and the Brooklyn Museum are some of the many cultural highlights in the area.

Crown Heights | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Originally known as Crown Hill by the Lenape Indians that lived there, Crown Heights has evolved into a diverse neighborhood, occupied primarily by Hasidic Jews and one of the largest Caribbean populations to be found anywhere outside of the West Indies.

Head over to Nostrand Avenue, one of the main West Indian commercial areas in the neighborhood, which is lined with stores that have been in those exact same places for generations, providing their goods and services to area residents. Kingston Avenue has similar commercial activities that support the Jewish community, and Franklin Avenue shows the most signs of change and gentrification, with an ever-expanding mix of yoga studios, coffee shops, and organic grocery stores that serve the influx of young professionals. No matter which of these areas you visit, you will find an interesting mix of businesses that you wouldn’t normally picture as existing side-by-side. It is all part of the cultural diversity of Crown Heights.

The neighborhood is bisected, from east to west, by Eastern Parkway, which is a beautiful, 3-mile-long boulevard lined with mature trees. This leafy oasis was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed designer of Central Park, the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, and the U. S. Capitol in Washington, D. C.

You will find a mix of low-rise apartment buildings, large middle-class elevator buildings, brownstones, and some luxury buildings. Century-old architecture stands next to modern residential developments in a visually interesting mix of styles, much as the diversity of the residents exists. People who would not normally meet and mix are forging new pathways to cultural understanding by working, living, and playing together in the same neighborhood.
