Property Description for 50 White Street, 2-NS

PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL OPEN HOUSES ARE BY APPOINTMENT.

The rarest of opportunities awaits the discerning buyer-two side-by-side lofts in the heart of Tribeca, ripe for combining into a glorious floor-thru with keyed elevator and outrageously low maintenance. (No, that number isn't a typo; it's correct for both 2N and 2S combined!) Each apartment is packed to the brim with glorious details: nearly 14-foot ceilings, enormous windows, lovely woodwork and hardwood floors. The south unit already has split-system A/C. Other perks include a laundry room (W/D in unit is permitted), two existing bathrooms in total (easy to add another) and approximately 35 feet of width to play with, along with spectacular southern light.

Built in 1865 and situated on a lovely Tribeca block, 50 White Street is a splendidly-maintained architectural beauty with only four units in total. There's never been an on-market sale in this building, so the lucky purchaser will be part of the first listed resale since it went co-op in 1983. Pets and subletting are permitted with board approval. Don't miss your chance to be part of something truly special! Contact me today to schedule your private showing.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
