The apartment opens with a spacious vestibule and closet with storage above. To the right is a renovated kitchen featuring wine-storage, stone countertops and stainless-steel appliances including a full-sized dishwasher.

On the other side of the kitchen, the dining / living room boasts north and east exposure to soak in sunlight from dawn to dusk. The first full bathroom (stall shower) is in the hallway en route to the bedrooms.

The courtyard-facing bedroom can accommodate a queen-sized bed with room for furniture or in this case, drums! The primary bedroom faces north and features an ensuite bathroom with bathtub. Both bedrooms come with wide closets for clothing and storage. In addition, there is a linen/utility closet in the hallway between them.

The apartment boasts hardwood floors throughout and comes with bike storage (2 bikes) in the basement. For hours when the doorman is away, there is a video intercom for buzzing in guests. The monthly rent covers heat, hot water and cooking gas leaving only electricity and internet (FiOS) the responsibility of the tenant.

Built in 1922, Museum Court is a 6-story elevator building with part time doorman, shared laundry and a roof deck providing sweeping views of Brooklyn, Manhattan and New York Harbor. It is anchored on Eastern Parkway, a stunning thoroughfare designed by Frederick Olmsted & Calvert Vaux (modelled after the Champs-Elysees).

The Brooklyn Museum, Botanic Gardens, Brooklyn Library and Mt. Prospect Park are directly across the street. Grand Army Plaza plays host to a bountiful Saturday Farmers Market and Prospect Park serves as a respite from the hustle of city life.

The 2/3 train is two buildings over and the B/Q trains are a little farther down on Flatbush. Atlantic Barclays is nearby and offers an array of subways into Manhattan (and beyond) as well as the LIRR to get out of town. Both Washington and Vanderbilt play host to myriad cafe's, restaurants and bars. There are four grocery stores, two pharmacies an ice cream parlor, craft beer bar and enormous gym all within striking distance.

A significant part of the Revolutionary War was fought in Prospect Heights and the surrounding areas. Known as the Battle of Brooklyn, it was the first military engagement following the Declaration of Independence. Things didn’t go so well for American forces so they retreated and the British occupied Manhattan for several years after the Battle of Brooklyn.

In 1867, the opening of Prospect Park caused major housing growth in Prospect Heights. The middle-class neighborhood was soon populated by Jewish, Italian, and Irish workers. Many of which were shop-owners or employed as laborers in nearby factories.

Housing in Prospect Heights includes single-family row houses, historic townhouses, co-ops, and new luxury condos. The median listed price for a 1-bedroom in Prospect Heights is $680,000 with an average price per square foot is $944.

The neighborhood's commercial artery runs along Vanderbilt Avenue and Washington Avenue. The variety of businesses adds to the charm of the neighborhood. They include bars, pubs, restaurants and mom-and-pop stores of all types. The shops and eateries are a perfect alternative to the big-name attractions that bracket the neighborhood. It's a little bit of everything in this neighborhood. 

Subways are plentiful in Prospect Heights. Its proximity to Manhattan is another perk of the neighborhood. It's about a half-hour train ride. The B, D, N, Q, R, 2, 3, 4 and 5 subway lines all serve the Atlantic Avenue/Barclays Center station. 2, 3, 4, B and Q trains cover the neighborhood and the A and C trains are nearby too.
