Property Description for 120 West 18th Street, 2-A

PREWAR LOFT CONDO. Perfectly situated off Sixth Avenue at the border of Chelsea, Flatiron and Greenwich Village, this renovated, prewar, three bedroom, three bath loft is available for sale. The intelligent layout of this 2300 square foot home is graceful and open with 10 and a half foot ceilings maximizing the spacious feeling. A tree-lined view, decorative fireplace and original columns add character and the perfect cozy touch. Modern radiator heating, central air, motorized window shades, washer/dryer and a dishwasher mean you lack nothing when it comes to comfort and ease of living. The marble kitchen was renovated two years ago, has fantastic counter and cabinet space plus an island with seating, and opens out to the massive dining area and living room. Want to host dinner parties for 12 or more? You'll have more than enough room for them here! Newly installed high end lighting can showcase your art collection as the walls are gallery-like in proportion. The primary bedroom has a separate shower and tub, a dressing room, and walk-in closet. Both back bedrooms are pin-drop quiet and private with generous closet space. There is more clever overhead storage space over the hallway area. At the front of the home you have a third bedroom with an en suite bath. Or use that as a study/guest room, throw the original arched French doors wide open, and enjoy one glorious, 45 foot long expanse of windows that gets great light all day. 120 West 18th Street is a Pre-War boutique sanctuary featuring keyed elevator entry, video intercom, a panoramic common roof deck, low carrying costs, and only two apartments per floor. Steps away from Sixth Avenue, two short blocks to the F train, and a five minute walk to Union Square make this one of the best locations downtown- not only for getting around, but for getting things done! Shopping and entertainment options abound in every direction, and yet magically, these area side streets go quiet and serene at night. Ladies Mile has some of the best pre-war architecture left downtown- you can enjoy that elegance at home and still step out your door to the best that modern urban life has to offer.

Chelsea | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The row houses portray the world-class architecture of Greek Revival, Italianate and Georgian styles. The population is both ethnically and socially diverse, which is reflected in the restaurants and retail businesses in the neighborhood.

Western Chelsea is the center of the NYC art world, where you will find more than 200 art galleries housed in rehabbed factories and warehouses, as well as in newly-constructed buildings.

While people of many different cultures call Chelsea home, it has been a mecca over the years for people in the LGBTQ community. One census reported that as many as 22% of its residents were gay couples. Eighth Avenue is a trendy area for LGBTQ-oriented dining and shopping. Although it no longer draws the LGBTQ population that it once did, Chelsea still has many popular alternative bars.

Chelsea is primarily residential, consisting of a mixture of diverse complexes, low-rise apartment blocks, tenements, townhouses, renovated row houses, and luxury high-rises.

Chelsea is an interesting and sought-after place to live, with unique clothing boutiques, restaurants, and delis representing cultures from around the world. In addition to its quirky establishments, Chelsea has fine dining restaurants and a vibrant, hip nightlife, which adds to its allure.

Chelsea is well-served by public transportation. At least six city bus routes traverse Chelsea. There are three NYC subway routes with stops on Seventh Avenue, three on Eighth Avenue, and two more on Sixth Avenue. The 34th Street - Hudson Yards Station opened in 2015 with its main entrance in Chelsea.
