Discover Modern Bushwick Luxury in this 2-Family TH w/Income-Generating Potential

Stunning finishes and abundant outdoor space define this gut-renovated two-family townhome nestled on a quiet tree-lined street in trendy Bushwick.

Comprised of a 3-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom owner's duplex and a 2-bedroom, 1-bathroom garden unit, 166 Covert Street offers tantalizing possibilities for those seeking a primary residence, an income-generating live-and-rent property, or a whole-home investment.

Residents are welcomed by a gated front patio and contemporary stucco fa ade. The owner's duplex begins with a discreet entry vestibule that reveals a floor-through open-plan living room, dining room, and kitchen flowing out to a huge deck with access to the backyard. Both outdoor spaces are perfect for grilling, alfresco dining, and more.

The kitchen boasts an eat-in island, custom European cabinetry, sleek quartz countertops, and high-end stainless steel appliances. One level up is a trio of bright bedrooms and a laundry closet with a stacked washer and dryer. The primary suite has two closets and a stylish en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower. The second and third bedrooms have deep closets and share a pristine second bathroom. Completing the duplex is an expansive rooftop deck with open neighborhood views.

The garden rental has a private entrance and open-plan living room, dining room, and kitchen. The kitchen has an eat-in peninsula and similar finishes, while the bedrooms have reach-in closets and easy access to a full bathroom with a deep tub. One of the bedrooms has direct access to the massive backyard.

Additional features include beautiful hardwood floors, central heating and cooling, tall sash windows, and a finished cellar with a storage closet and powder room.

Bushwick | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

As one of the most diverse neighborhoods in New York, Bushwick offers a perfect snapshot of just how multicultural the city is. Long-established as an amalgam of cultures and ethnicities, a wave of varying types of immigrants trickled in from the seventeenth to twentieth centuries, with Bushwick largely becoming a home to Hispanics of Puerto Rican and Dominican backgrounds by the latter part of the twentieth century.

With the Bushwick Initiative of the mid-00s that aided in revitalization, it became an attractive area to young professionals and artists. And even now, Bushwick has sustained affordable rent prices where other North Brooklyn counterparts, like Williamsburg and Greenpoint, have become more expensive. Priding itself on the weird and the wacky, numerous art collectives thrive in this part of Brooklyn, once famously named the seventh coolest neighborhood in the world by Vogue.

Though it has drawn in many tourists in recent years (there’s even a graffiti tour you can take from the Bushwick Collective), the neighborhood remains very much community-oriented, and has not been subject to quite the same sort of corporate infiltration phenomenon of its nearby Williamsburg environs.

But yes, of course, Bushwick has come a very long way from its 80s and 90s reputation as being “The Well,” a nickname given to it for its free-flowing and widely available amount of drugs (quantity over quality being the cliche applied here).
