Property Description for 105 East 29th Street, PH

Available for sublease is this iconic NoMad penthouse loft designed by acclaimed AD100 architect/designer Daniel Romualdez. The penthouse of 105 East 29th Street can be available furnished or unfurnished (or partially furnished). The home occupies the entire top two floors (about 3,400 SF) of this boutique loft building, and also enjoys a penthouse bulkhead surrounded by significant landscaping on the large outdoor terrace (>1,000 SF). Rare for a loft of this type, the property boasts wraparound views, four exposures, incredible privacy, and a turnkey renovation. Enter into the home via a key-locked elevator through a foyer area, and then immediately you are greeted by the incredible ceiling height of 11' and light from the wall of southern and eastern windows. The open-plan living/dining/kitchen is built for entertaining. There is an enormous south-facing living area with a built-in library wall and room enough for a billiards table. A separate, large dining area has eastern exposure and plenty of room for large-format meals. The open kitchen has chef's appliances by Gaggenau, all in stainless steel, significant pantry storage, and laundry. On the northern end of the home are the three bedrooms. The primary is a corner, with northern, protected views, an enormous built-out closet, and a spa-like primary bath. The bath has separate soaking tub, double vanity, stall shower, and water closet. There are two additional guest bedrooms and a full bath between them. Upstairs the custom iron spiral stair is the glass-enclosed penthouse addition, which houses a lounge/den, full bathroom, office area, and wet bar. Via multiple sliding doors, one can access the rooftop terrace. This terrace wraps around and allows for rambling outdoor space for living and entertaining. Out here, there is significant built-in planting with an irrigation system, a suave outdoor shower, and room for lounging. The apartment benefits from multi-zoned central air, automated shade and lighting systems, and significant storage. Please also inquire about a sale opportunity. 105 East 29th Street is a boutique, 11-residence cooperative built in 1913 with an off-site virtual doorman and brand new lobby. Nearby restaurants include Scarpetta, Eleven Madison Park, Gramercy Tavern, Union Square Café, BlackBarn, Sarabeth’s, ATOMIX, The Clocktower, and The Bazaar. Whole Foods and Barry’s Bootcamp are two blocks away, Equinox gym is three, Madison Square Park is four and Eataly is six.

NoMad | Manhattan

Quick Profile

NoMad, North of Madison Square Park, is a rectangular swath of land that is bordered by East 25th Street to the south, East 29th Street to the north, Sixth Avenue to the west, and depending who you ask, Madison or Lexington Avenue to the East. It’s had its acronymed name for over two decades but not every New Yorker calls the neighborhood NoMad.

Historic architecture, trendy hotels and restaurants and high-priced apartments - NoMad wasn’t always the coveted neighborhood that it is today. It’s gone through many transformations over the years. Including a red light district known as the Tenderloin in the 1880’s. It was a popular shopping destination and a place where high society held court in the mid 19th century. It was part of New York City’s Silicon Alley in the 1990’s.

As of lately, world class chefs and restaurants have moved into NoMad. It’s tied with Midtown Manhattan for having the most Michelin stars (six stars to date). Besides NoMad’s architecture, nightlife, and restaurants, we can’t forget the added perk of being close to other great neighborhoods and cultural institutions. NoMad’s central location makes it easier to get just about anywhere in the city. You can walk to Chelsea, West Village, Union Square or Grand Central Station in no time at all. The N, R, 1, 6, B, Q, F, and M are very close or just a few blocks away. Penn Station is also within walking distance.
