Discover a world of refined elegance in this fully renovated Harlem townhome. Configured as a multi-family home, it is composed of an owner’s triplex and a one-bedroom garden apartment, making it perfectly designed for multigenerational living, income potential, or simply enjoying its luxurious expanses. The main home is a showpiece of thoughtful design and premium craftsmanship. Four spacious bedrooms, 2.5 beautifully appointed bathrooms, and hardwood floors throughout. The parlor level features a wood-burning fireplace, creating a cozy ambiance that’s perfect for entertaining or relaxing. The true heart of the home is the oversized chef’s kitchen, equipped with two full-size Miele dishwashers, double Wolf ovens and range, a Subzero refrigerator/freezer, and a Subzero wine refrigerator - with approximately 100 bottle capacity. Accordion glass doors fully open the back wall of this level, onto a terrace, seamlessly extending the living space outdoors. Outdoor space is at the forefront of this home’s allure, with a rare abundance of private spaces, totaling over 1,000 square feet: a serene backyard, three terraces (one off the back of every floor), and a roof deck that offers spectacular views. Whether hosting alfresco dinners, relaxing with morning coffee, or enjoying Harlem’s dynamic skyline, these retreats provide unmatched charm. The primary suite is a true escape, complete with a fireplace, a generously sized terrace (with the same accordion glass doors that allow for the wall to completely open to the outside), and a spa-like ensuite bath with a two-person steam shower. A Sonos sound system flows throughout the home, enhancing every space with immersive sound. The garden apartment, with its separate entrance, offers an equally spacious one-bedroom layout. Perfect for generating income, hosting guests, or accommodating extended family, it adds invaluable versatility to this exceptional property. A second washer/dryer is included on the apartment level. Located just steps from Harlem’s vibrant Restaurant Row on Frederick Douglass Boulevard, you’re surrounded by delicious dining, cozy cafés, and lively nightlife. For day-to-day conveniences, the nearby Target, Trader Joe’s, Sephora, Whole Foods, and Lincoln Market make urban living seamless and enjoyable. A commuters dream: the townhome is a mere 3 blocks from the express A/D trains, which takes you to 59th street in six minutes. Imagine evenings by the fireplace, wine tastings on your terrace, or summer soirées on the roof deck— all while immersed in Harlem’s vibrant cultural and culinary scene. Welcome home.

Harlem | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The neighborhood called West Harlem by the locals is known as Manhattanville to neighborhood newcomers. The area is culturally diverse and might be considered a microcosm of the city as a whole.

Columbia University has recently expanded into the area, which is attracting student residents from all over the world. Together with students from the City College of New York and young professionals fleeing higher prices in other neighborhoods, this influx of younger residents has brought with it more restaurants and bars on W 125th Street to serve this clientele. There are also new ventures, like a rock-climbing gym, to cater to the interests of these students and young professionals. At the same time, there are many small, family-owned shops and restaurants that have been anchors of the neighborhood for multiple generations.

The area has been through a housing upgrade, as older properties have been renovated and abandoned properties have been razed to make room for new development. There are still reasonably priced apartments available. Young professionals are finding that there is a certain cachet to living in West Harlem. It provides a convenient commute to the city and all of its amenities, while providing a sense of escape at the end of a long work day.

While rentals are popular with the student population, the young professionals are delighted to find pre-war brownstones, pre-war co-ops (including some income-capped HDFCs for lower- and middle-income buyers), and post-war condos that they can afford, although prices are rising. Some new low-rise developments, sporting virtual doormen and desired amenities, are cropping up.
