Property Description for 61-44 Gates Ave, 1

Looking for a light-filled, spacious home with modern finishes and a flexible layout? This expansive 3-bedroom, 1.5-bathroom Garden Duplex in Ridgewood is the perfect fit.

Situated on the first floor of a two-unit home, this 2,200+ square foot duplex offers remarkable versatility. Beyond its three generously sized bedrooms, the lower level features a bonus area able to accommodate a media room, home office, fitness space, recreational room, or playroom. The possibilities are endless-let your imagination make it your own!

Modern finishes and thoughtful design elevate this home, from engineered wood flooring to sleek radiator heating. Outside, a private backyard with a stone patio and outdoor furniture creates the perfect space for entertaining or unwinding in style.

Inside, the sense of space and light is immediately apparent. The entryway leads to an open-concept living, dining, and kitchen area. The kitchen boasts white cabinetry, quartz countertops, high-end Frigidaire stainless-steel appliances, and a striking black-and-white marble-inspired tile backsplash that adds a sophisticated touch.

Two rear bedrooms offer comfort and natural light, with space for queen or full-size beds. One of them features direct access to the backyard, blending indoor and outdoor living seamlessly. On the opposite side of the unit, the primary bedroom serves as a serene retreat, perfectly complementing the home's contemporary aesthetic. The full bathroom is elegantly designed with beige tiles, porcelain pedestal sink, deep soaking tub and polished chrome fixtures.

The lower level offers even more versatility. Accessible via a staircase from the entryway, this sprawling space is currently set up as a recreational area but can be adapted to suit your needs. A half-bathroom, washer/dryer hookups, and a private fitness room add further convenience.

Located in a vibrant, convenient neighborhood, the home is in close proximity to restaurants, including Rustico Taverna, E-Chiban, Otra Casita Mexicana, Jin Ramen Sushi, Gyro World, and cafes like Green Spot, Cute Cat Cafe, the Nest Fine Desserts, multiple grocery stores, and other everyday essentials. With easy access to public transportation-including the Fresh Pond Road M-train and Myrtle Avenue L-train-you're just a short commute away from the heart of the city.

Ridgewood | Queens

Quick Profile

Unique for being a symbolic and literal bridge between Brooklyn and Queens, Ridgewood incorporates both distinct elements of these boroughs into its persona. Originally considered part of Brooklyn, the neighborhood broke off with Bushwick in the 1700s at a point called, appropriately, Arbitration Rock. When the blackout of 1977 occurred, the residents of Ridgewood only further wanted to dissociate themselves from their Bushwick neighbors as the bedlam that ensued in between the looting and the riots made them feel just a tad superior.

And yet, just because its zip code changed didn’t mean Ridgewood could ever fully break free from its proximity and entwined identity with Bushwick. Pegged as the next “it” destination and hipster haven to move to circa 2016, Ridgewood has surprised many with its steady pace of growth, therefore well-maintained “neighborhood” feel.

Rife with quiet blocks filled with quaint, colorful buildings, Ridgewood offers the bodegas and local businesses one also expects of “old world” Brooklyn. An increase in the number of coffee shops, bars and DIY venues have continued its natural association with Bushwick, however, the deeper into the neighborhood you go, the more apparent it becomes that Ridgewood is very much its own very Queensian thing.
