Property Description for 127 West 79th Street, 1-N

Jumbo UWS Studio w/ 11ft Ceilings!

Newly renovated south-facing jumbo studio home with 11'1 high-beamed ceilings situated on one of the best blocks on the Upper West Side.

There is excellent light throughout the day with nearly 8-ft windows and south-facing exposure. The pre-war foundational walls and the setback of West 79th Street make it surprisingly quiet from the inside, and reverse blinds have been installed to maximize privacy.

The open kitchen is equipped with brand-new stainless steel appliances including a Summit Refrigerator, Frigidaire Microwave, Frigidaire Oven and electric burners, a full-size dishwasher, and a deep sink. The bathroom is tastefully renovated and ideally located off the kitchen with vanity storage and an overhead medicine cabinet. There is also a massive walk-in closet that can easily double as a home office.

There is no formal board package required and move-in can be fairly immediate, however, a $250.00 background and credit-check fee will be charged upon an approved application. The initial lease term will be 12 months and can be renewed ongoingly if the tenant is in good standing. Spectrum or Fios is available in the building. Heat and hot water are included.

The Clifton House is a full-service pre-war cooperative building built in 1926 with 15 stories and 125 homes. There is 24-hour doorman service, a live-in superintendent, a beautifully landscaped common roof deck, common laundry, and a bike room. Pets are welcome.

This home is situated in the most superb location on the West Side, across the street from the American Museum of Natural History, and moments to Central Park, Theodore Roosevelt Park and its dog run, and the Diana Ross Playground. All the best dining, shopping, and entertainment options that the West Side has to offer are close by such as Zabar's, and the 77th/79th Street Farmers Market (which is along Columbus Avenue on Sundays!). Extraordinarily close by are all the public transportation you could ever need, including the B, C, and 1 subway lines, and numerous buses including the 79th Street crosstown.

Upper West Side | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Bracketed on its east and west borders by massive city parks, the Upper West Side (UWS) is known for its greenery, stately and elegant townhomes, safe streets and great schools, all of which make it a very desirable neighborhood for families. The UWS has maintained its community feeling, making it attractive to young professionals and retirees, both of whom want a sense of belonging in the place they call home.

Here you’ll find many apartment buildings, especially those along Central Park West. Historic architecture abounds, anchored by four luxury co-ops - the San Remo, Majestic, Century and Eldorado apartments - all of which have two towers on their interiors. They were built in the 1930s and their design was predicated on a 1929 building code that imposed a height limit on residences facing the street. There are also impressive row houses near Riverside Drive throughout the W 70 and 80 Streets. Above the 90s, you will find smaller buildings where walk-ups are very reasonably priced.

There are several world-class museums and venues dedicated to the performing arts. Plentiful dining can be found in the UWS. You will find everything from quaint Jewish delis serving up bagels and a schmear to sophisticated fine dining that has earned multiple Michelin stars, and everything you could possibly want in between. There is also abundant shopping and a vibrant nightlife.
