Property Description for 1139 Prospect Ave, 1-E

Spacious, newly updated 3 bedroom, 2 full bathroom duplex condo with a private 78 sq. ft. patio, separate entrance and potential for onsite parking located in prime Windsor Terrace just two blocks from Prospect Park and minutes to the F and G subway lines. Enter into the upper level of this home and you'll find a well-equipped chef's kitchen, a separate dining area with room enough for eight or more, a sunlit living room with both north and east exposures and a switchback staircase leading to a lower level with two sizable bedrooms, a well-appointed full bath with step-in shower and additional storage off the landing. Apartment features include hardwood oak floors, crown moldings, PTAC and split systems for individual heating and cooling in each room, a washer/dryer hook-up (a common laundry room is down the hall), and a cozy location in the back of the condominium that allows for ample privacy and serenity. The large kitchen on the upper level boasts classic white cabinetry by Ultracraft, a subway tile backsplash, full-sized stainless steel appliances by LG and Kitchen Aid, including a double door fridge with freezer drawer, absolute black granite countertops, an under-mount sink and recessed lighting. The versatile layout measuring nearly 1,250 sq. ft. allows for a nice amount of flexibility with an option to use the room on the upper level as a spacious primary bedroom or as a home office/guest room, as it's currently set up. The full bathroom on this floor has a laundry closet, soaking tub and vanity with plenty of space for all your needs. Step outside your back door into the 78 sq. ft. exclusive patio area behind the building and you'll find a sliver of the condominium's parking lot where the current owner enjoys their private spot costing an additional $170/mo. (Currently wait-listed.) Easy access is provided through a nearby electric gate that feeds into Terrace Place. Built in 1990 with 55 units, the Prospect Park Mews Condominium is close to shopping, pharmacies and local hotspots such as Le Paddock, Poetica Coffee, Double Windsor and The Adirondack. Prospect Park is moments away, as is Greenwood Cemetery, Vanderbilt Playgrounds, Prospect Farm Community Gardens, the Greenmarket at Bartel-Pritchard Square, the Windsor Terrace Library, and the Prospect Park Tennis Center and Parade Ground. There's easy access to the Prospect Expressway and the F and G subway lines are nearby. Professionally managed and financially sound, this condo has an onsite porter, an elevator, a common roof deck and two garden spaces for the residents to enjoy. Current assessment running through Oct. 31, 2025 is $274/mo. Bedroom image is virtually staged.

Windsor Terrace | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

The tiny, comma-shaped neighborhood of Windsor Terrace is bookended between two of Brooklyn’s largest green spaces, Prospect Park and the massive Green-Wood cemetery. Aside from the presence of the Prospect Park Expressway, which dissects the neighborhood in two, this residential community offers a suburban sensibility with its tree-lined streets, low volume traffic and the low height character of its streetscape.

Many homes in the area are low to the ground, lending a suburban feel to the neighborhood, and the area has been down-zoned to maintain its low-rise appeal and character. There are plentiful brick row houses that have very low turnover. If you are lucky enough to buy or rent one, you tend to hold on to it. There are also small apartment buildings, private homes, condos and multi-family homes in a wide price range

There is commercial development along Prospect Park West, Fort Hamilton Parkway and Prospect Avenue, but even these new stores and restaurants are mostly family-owned and operated, maintaining the small-town charm. The pace of life is slower. The schools are good, which is a big draw for families with young children. The people are friendly, which gives a real sense of neighborhood and community to Windsor Terrace.
