Property Description for 156 West 10th Street, TH

West Village Living at its Finest: Your Very Own Townhouse on West 10th Street, with private landscaped roof deck and rear garden

Mint-condition, just-renovated townhouse featuring custom finishes, gas fireplace, in-unit washer/dryer, and both a private rear garden and landscaped roof terrace, both with gas grills for unequaled entertaining. Located on the prime West Village block of West 10th Street off of Waverly Place.

Enter the home into its parlor level, with two floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking West 10th Street and a wide rear window spanning almost the entire width of the room overlooking the home's rear patio and garden. A custom chandelier and wood-burning fireplace anchor this living room. A coat closet sits off the entry foyer.

The garden level houses the open chef's kitchen and dining area. The kitchen has a large cooking island that can fit multiple stools, a true-vented stove, all new appliances (including dishwasher), and a garbage disposal. A large dining table can fit alongside the island. A powder room is also located on this level.

This dining and kitchen area connects to the home's rear patio and landscaped garden, which has one of the home's two gas grills.

On the home's second floor are the second and third bedrooms, each of which have a large closet and two large windows. They are served by a striking full bathroom with tub. Also on this floor is a separate closet with a side-by-side washer and vented dryer.

The primary bedroom suite comprises the third floor, with a large, windowed dressing room with customized closet, as well as additional closets. The ensuite primary bathroom, with windows overlooking the garden, has double vanities, a large shower, and marble walls, as well as a built-in laundry hamper and storage.

The roof level has a lovely landscaped terrace, with great Village views and dramatic sunsets above the surrounding buildings. The home's second gas grill and landscaped planters complete this roof deck.

Excellent light, new oak flooring, crown moldings, custom light fixtures, and restored exposed brick feature throughout the home. There is also multi-zone air conditioning and heating.

156 West 10th Street is a historic red-brick townhouse, located on the prime block of West 10th Street off of Waverly Place. Unlike most private townhouses, the building is well-attended with a superintendent and full property management company services.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
