Property Description for 331A Stuyvesant Ave

Stunning single family brownstone on a prime landmarked block in Bedford Stuyvesant. This legal 2 family is currently configured as a well laid out single family home. This 3 bed 3 bath home could easily be converted to a 4 bedroom property or returned to its original usage as a 2 family home. A beautiful mix of original pre-war details and modern renovations come together seamlessly to create a warm and inviting environment. This home was lovingly renovated by the current owners with the utmost attention to detail. The kitchen was completely renovated with custom cabinetry, quartz countertops with room for stools, a GE Cafe stove, vented SMEG hood, Fisher & Paykel fridge, Bosch dishwasher, and open wooden shelving to add a warm and stylish feel to this highly functional kitchen. Adjacent the kitchen is the center dining area with white washed exposed brick and sage green lime washed walls. At the front of the garden floor, separated by antique glass and wood doors, is a cozy den with an original decorative fireplace which could easily become a 4th bedroom. Every floor of this house has a renovated full bathroom. This beautiful kitchen is on the garden level with easy access to the lush private backyard which has a gas line, allowing for a hardlined gas grill, and the yard also features both hot & cold water for the already installed outdoor shower. This parlor level features soaring 11 foot ceilings creating a grand living room with oversized windows, gorgeous original wood flooring, and a newly installed custom mahogany double front door. At the back of the house you'll find a massive bedroom with large windows overlooking the tranquil yard. The top floor has a gracious bedroom with an ornate ceiling medallion and original arches creating the perfect nook for a king sized bed. The primary bedroom has high ceilings, tons of light, an en-suite bathroom with matte black fixtures, rough hewn subway tiles, and a seamless step-in rainshower with glass doors. The primary bedroom has room for a work desk and seating area, and is so large you could easily carve out an internal office/bedroom with a skylight. The hallway leading to the back bedroom is lined with closets and an office/peloton area. The back bedroom has a beautiful decorative fireplace and overlooks the treetops and backyards of the surrounding brownstones. The unfinished basement is perfect for storage and has a vented washer/dryer. This home is a short distance along a gorgeous landmarked street of iconic brownstones from the express A/C Utica stop which allows easy access to downtown Manhattan in 20 minutes. Bedford Stuyvesant is a rapidly evolving neighborhood with world class restaurants (Saraghina, Trad Room, Peaches, L'Antagonista, Lazia, Daphnies, Chez Oskar, Bar Camilo etc), coffee shops (Milk & Pull, Rita & Maria's, Che, Corto, Passionfruit, etc) , live music (LunAtico), Von King and Saratoga parks, Tribeca Pediatrics, a vibrant community, and the classic Brooklyn brownstone architecture so many of us are seeking. It's one of the few places in this city where people actually say hello to each other on the street! For sale by owner/broker.

Bedford Stuyvesant | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Known for its historic brownstones and tight-knit enclave, Bed-Stuy has increasingly left behind its early reputation for being a “bedroom community” and transcended into a highly desirable neighborhood.

Distinct for its aesthetic, it is populated with ornate buildings characterized by cornices, friezes, finials, fluting and other marks of classic architecture. Built up during the period from 1870 to 1900, its historic district runs to the north of Jefferson Avenue, to the east of Malcolm X Boulevard and to the west of Tompkins Avenue.

At one point known as “Brooklyn’s Little Harlem,” the shape of the area has shifted toward attracting a wider demographic of people thanks to the influx of bars, restaurants, antique furniture stores and vintage boutiques. More police enforcement paired with the decline of the crack epidemic at the beginning of the 2000s also opened the door for increased development, as well as the occupation of formerly abandoned buildings and spaces.
