Property Description for 205 East 10th Street, 4-D

Charming pre-war on iconic street in the East Village. This spacious, well-preserved, one-bedroom, features original details, parquet floors with inset mahogany borders, tall ceilings, a spacious living area with large East facing windows framing quintessential cityscape views, an eat-in kitchen with double sinks, and ample closet space throughout (including a large cedar-lined closet). Set back from the street, the apartment is unusually quiet and feels like an oasis from the hustle and bustle of the city.

The well-maintained Cooperative hasn't been on the market in over 30 years and is that rare trifecta; a great apartment, building, and neighborhood. It is centrally located near the 6, N, R, L subway lines, Union Square station and Astor Place. It is also near NYU, and swimming, recreational, and entertainment centers. The building has a modern elevator and an art deco lobby, marble entryway, laundry room, live-in super, bike storage and common outdoor courtyard space. No dogs or Pied- -terres allowed. Shareholders must live in the building for three years before requesting permission to sublet. Additional storage is available for rent.

East Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

The East Village has two distinct moods. By day, it is quiet and peaceful. Everyone is out and about, either working or relaxing at Tompkins Square Park, strolling or jogging along the East River, or hanging out in one of the subsets of cultural activity, such as St. Mark’s Place.

But then night falls, and the East Village comes to life, keeping the entertainment and nightlife going long after the other neighborhoods have called it quits for the night. People from all five boroughs flock to the dive bars and speakeasies, head for their favorite cafes and restaurants, or drop in to a music venue to listen to hot tunes or cool jazz and dance the night away. Don’t worry, you don’t have to “know somebody” to gain admittance to even the most popular venues. You won’t find velvet ropes, bouncers, or and a waiting list at the door of most places. Just walk right in and enjoy yourself.

Be prepared for the increased population during fall through spring, when NYU is in session. College students will be everywhere, contributing to the youthful essense of the neighborhood.
