Property Description for 303 East 33rd Street, 8-G

Welcome to 303 East 33rd Street, the first LEED Green Building in Kips Bay. Elegantly designed, apartment 8G is a two-bedroom two bath corner boasting lots of sunshine all day with Southern and Eastern exposure. If any room gets too hot or sunny for you, each room is outfitted with electronic shades with a touch of a button. This designer's 1,326-square-foot residence is elegant, warm, cozy, all the while feels like a cozy home. Enjoy coffee or a cocktail on the 55 sqft balcony. The great room is a wonderful, happy place to entertain in or simply enjoy an intimate dinner for two. The pass-through chef's kitchen is modern and understated with white glass and bamboo cabinetry, polished glass counters, and top-of-the-line appliances from Sub-Zero and Bosch. The primary suite designed with a custom closet is a neat retreat. The primary bath has an elegantly simple design awash in Bianco Dolomiti marble, quartzite and glass mosaic tiles, Kohler and Grohe fixtures, and radiant heat. Four-inch-wide bamboo floors, double-paned windows, and new custom closets run throughout the home. The building features a fitness center, a 3,000 owner’s lounge, and a 5,000-square-foot roof garden with a putting green, full-size grill plus a sundeck and reflecting pool or enjoy the intimate garden with a firepit as the sun begins to set. Set on the corner of 33rd Street and Second Avenue, the home is mere steps from Fairway Market, Trader Joe's, and Loews Theater. A CitiBike station is on the next corner, and the 6 train station is just three blocks west.

Kips Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

If you take a walk through Kips Bay, which is loosely defined as the area between 23rd street and 34th street and the East River to almost Lexington, you’ll quickly learn it's a hodgepodge of sorts and not as well defined as other neighborhoods in New York City. Some New Yorkers say Kips Bay has an identity crisis because 1st, 2nd, and 3rd avenues are distinctly different from one another as you traverse them. Despite the perceived lack of neighborhood vibe there are others that appreciate its affordability and convenience.

First Avenue is dominated by hospitals and hospital buildings such as NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital to name a few. Second Avenue is a mosaic of convenience stores, fast food joints and nondescript brick buildings. Third Avenue is saturated with small bars and gastropubs and the twenty somethings that patronize them.

No judgement against Kips Bay here. It’s a great neighborhood that is just as much a part of New York City as any other neighborhood. Kips Bay It’s bordered by Murray Hill to the North, Stuyvesant Town and Gramercy Park to the South, and Rose Hill to the West. The neighborhood is partly defined by newer high-rise apartments, brick rowhouses, and former tenement buildings.
