Property Description for 211 Thompson Street, 4-L

Designed by a top interior designer, apartment 4L is a masterclass in modern, minimalist design, maximizing both style and functionality. Nestled on a tree-lined block in the heart of Greenwich Village, this bright and airy triplex offers everything you've dreamed of from downtown living half a block from Carbone & Washington Square Park.

Enjoy soaring 10-foot ceilings in a spectacular living space, a private balcony with charming views and a spiral staircase that connects each element of this home perfectly. The use of high-quality materials, a clean color palette, and thoughtful details throughout are truly inviting.

The lower level features an entirely reimagined kitchen where stainless-steel appliances seamlessly integrated with panel-ready details. It features a beautiful Smeg refrigerator, Bertazzoni oven and dishwasher, as well as an under-counter Bosch microwave. A sophisticated countertop extension creates a casual dining area with room for two stools. Under-cabinet lighting highlights the backsplash and countertop while large-format, dark grey tiles provide striking contrast. A complete electrical overhaul was part of the full renovation, which included the installation of recessed ceiling lights for ample ambient lighting.

The spacious upper loft contains high ceilings, room for a king bed, and additional area for a desk or reading nook overlooking the living space. A walk-in closet on this level is a major highlight, on top of the 3 other generous closets with tons of storage in this home.

The updated bathroom is centered around a modern vanity with storage above and below. A black and white patterned tile floor adds retro charm to the surrounding subway tile.

211 Thompson Street is distinguished cooperative in a prime downtown location. Residents enjoy excellent services such as a part-time doorman, live-in super, and laundry on every floor. They also have access to multiple subway lines, the best dining and shopping in the city, as well as excellent cultural experiences. In the coop co-purchases, pied-a-terre, gifts and subletting are permitted. There is a 2% flip tax paid by the purchaser. LL11 anticipated to be complete this summer.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
