Property Description for 537 18th Street

A Warm, Welcoming Windsor Terrace Townhome — Just Blocks from Prospect Park This lovingly maintained Windsor Terrace townhome offers the kind of space, charm, and flexibility that Brooklyn residents dream about. Nestled on a leafy street just minutes from Prospect Park, this legal two-family (currently configured as a spacious single-family) is full of character, natural light, and room to grow. Built in 1910, the home spans three levels and offers four true bedrooms, multiple bonus rooms for play, work, or guests, two full bathrooms, and a layout that makes everyday living feel effortless. Details like original parquet floors and decorative fireplaces add texture and soul, while the home's flow feels both practical and inviting. The garden level, which provides an additional 896 sq ft not included in the square footage, is where life happens: a generous kitchen opens into an airy living and dining area with plenty of space for homework, movie nights, and family dinners. Just off the kitchen, a bonus room serves as the perfect mudroom, storage space, or mini-play area. Step outside to a backyard built for memory-making—with a brick patio for grilling and dining, a roomy shed for bikes and scooters, and garden beds ready for your veggies or flowers. On the parlor level, you'll find two large bedrooms, a full bath, and an additional flex room that's perfect as a nursery, craft room, or home office. The top floor is your personal retreat, with a sun-soaked primary suite, a rainfall shower in the ensuite bathroom, a large den or lounge area, and an additional bedroom with its own bonus room—ideal for a sibling share, homework zone, or a quiet reading nook. All of this in a location that checks every box: stroll to Prospect Park, Greenwood Cemetery, and the shops, cafés, and kid-friendly spots of Prospect Park West and South Slope. Surrounded by a real sense of neighborhood community, this is the kind of home that offers both space to spread out and the connection Brooklynites crave. A timeless Brooklyn home, full of light, warmth, and possibility—ready for your next chapter.

Windsor Terrace | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

The tiny, comma-shaped neighborhood of Windsor Terrace is bookended between two of Brooklyn’s largest green spaces, Prospect Park and the massive Green-Wood cemetery. Aside from the presence of the Prospect Park Expressway, which dissects the neighborhood in two, this residential community offers a suburban sensibility with its tree-lined streets, low volume traffic and the low height character of its streetscape.

Many homes in the area are low to the ground, lending a suburban feel to the neighborhood, and the area has been down-zoned to maintain its low-rise appeal and character. There are plentiful brick row houses that have very low turnover. If you are lucky enough to buy or rent one, you tend to hold on to it. There are also small apartment buildings, private homes, condos and multi-family homes in a wide price range

There is commercial development along Prospect Park West, Fort Hamilton Parkway and Prospect Avenue, but even these new stores and restaurants are mostly family-owned and operated, maintaining the small-town charm. The pace of life is slower. The schools are good, which is a big draw for families with young children. The people are friendly, which gives a real sense of neighborhood and community to Windsor Terrace.
