Property Description for 391 Broadway, LOFT-C

391 Broadway is a stunning conversion of a historic cast-iron, pre-war loft building, ideally situated in northern Tribeca. Spanning over 2,000 SF, this generous loft offers 2 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and a separate den/home office. The residence seamlessly blends the timeless charm of old-world Tribeca with all the modern conveniences: a private keyed elevator opens directly into the loft, revealing a grand great room featuring soaring 12-foot ceilings and a striking gas fireplace framed by dramatic floor-to-ceiling slate. Enormous, double-hung mahogany windows flood the space with natural light from the East, creating a bright and inviting atmosphere throughout.

At the heart of the loft, the chef's kitchen showcases state-of-the-art appliances, including a six-burner Wolfe range, Sub-Zero refrigerator with a double-drawer freezer, and Wolfe microwave convection oven. Beyond the kitchen, a cozy den offers the perfect home office space, leading to two spacious bedrooms. The primary suite is a serene retreat, complete with a massive five-fixture en-suite bathroom, featuring a freestanding soaking tub, a large pass-through dressing area, and ample closet space.

The loft is finished with beautiful wide-plank red oak floors, a zoned climate control system, and a washer/dryer for ultimate convenience. Additionally, the home includes a private storage unit for added practicality.

Located just two short blocks from the prime shopping and dining of SoHo and one block from the Canal Street subway station, 391 Broadway offers the perfect balance of luxury and convenience. With its expansive layout, generous ceiling heights, and abundant natural light, this loft is an ideal combination of refined living and prime location.

Quick Profile

TriBeCa, named after the small geographic triangle below Canal Street. It’s not really a triangle, it's a quadrilateral and it's bounded by West Street, Broadway, and Chambers Street. It’s a little too late for a name change and besides, QuaBeCa doesn't sound half as cool as Tribeca.

One of New York City’s more notable acronymed neighborhoods, TriBeCa is known for its trendy boutiques, fabolous restaurants, historical landmarks, and resident celebrity lofts. It still holds the title of one of the coolest places to live in New York City.

TriBeCa is one of the first residential neighborhoods of New York City. Way back in 1700’s wealthy New Yorkers built homes and maintained gardens in what is now TriBeca.

Later in history it shifted from residential to warehouses, commerce and markets. After the Civil War, shipping hubs moved from the East River to the Hudson River and revitalized areas like the South Street Seaport and TriBeca. When shipping and commerce increased, the area soon became a favorite spot for wholesalers to store their goods in large industrial warehouses.

Just like its neighbor SoHo, TriBeCa boasts one of the world’s largest collections of wrought-iron facades and Neo-Grecian architecture.
