Property Description for 24 Fifth Ave, 1212-A

Immerse yourself in this classic prewar world as first envisioned by the renowned architectural team of Emery Roth & Sons back in the early 20's. You will know you have found your new home as you enjoy traversing 5th avenue as it meets ninth Street as arguably one of the most desirable central locations in the city. Many New Yorkers refer to this small area of Greenwich Village as the Gold Coast with good reason. As you enter the building, you will be welcomed by a combination of an immense lobby & excellent staff that is especially rare to find these days. This building was originally built as the Fifth Avenue Hotel on the site of the Brevoort Mansion.

The most coveted apartments are the south exposure units. Let the sun shine in from this lovely sun-drenched apartment with a brilliant south exposure.

This apartment is totally renovated and features:

Hardwood floors, open kitchen w/breakfast bar, D/W, granite countertops, two huge walk-in closets & a high beamed ceiling. This apartment gets a wonderful partial view of the west village & you will be rewarded for every sunny day with a great sunset.

Available May 1 - June 1 to rent subject to co-op board approval. The apt is vacant so the owner is highly motivated to rent ASAP but that is always subject to the board approval process so please take note of this.

No dogs permitted.

Greenwich Village is the nexus of the prime downtown vibe with great access to Washington Square & Union Square Parks, multiple mass transit options, great retail, restaurants, cafes & so much more.

This classic prewar twenty four hour doorman building was designed by the renowned architectural team of Emery Roth & Sons. Built in 1924 & originally opened as a luxury hotel features updated hallways, restoration of a classic lobby, three passenger elevators plus additional freight elevators, resident superintendent, on-sight management office, full staff of porters, large modern laundry room & bike room at no extra cost (subject to availability). Storage subject to availability & extra cost.

One of the building's crown jewels is its state-of-the-art fitness center. The equipment is top quality & very similar what you would find in higher end type gyms in Manhattan. There is a resident price membership rate and for residents only. You can view digital pics of the Gym & the lobby right here.

Your opportunity to live in a lovely prewar home in the heart of classic Greenwich Village & just steps to the Washington Square Arch is now.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
