Property Description for 23 Waverly Place, 2-P

*Open houses are by appointment only.* Please reach out 24 hours in advance. *Truly special, newly gut-renovated, corner loft with direct Washington Square Park views in prime Greenwich Village location.* This extra-large one bedroom with home office has nearly 13' ceilings, massive south- and west- facing windows, and a perfect layout. The separate, open chef's kitchen has ample counter and storage space along with stainless steel appliances, and flows naturally into the massive dining and living room, making it work exceptionally well whether you're enjoying an intimate meal at home or hosting a larger gathering. Tucked privately away in the rear of the apartment is a jaw-dropping bedroom with four enormous arched windows and views out to Washington Square Park. The large lofted area works equally well as a spacious office or bedroom, should you prefer to use the entire main level for living and entertaining. Waverly Mews at 23 Waverly Place is a pre-war Greenwich Village loft building, originally built in the late 1800s as a hat factory. Its grand arched entryway opens into a beautifully manicured and serene courtyard. The building also has an excellent roof deck with stunning NYC skyline views and abundant seating and tables. Waverly Mews is perfectly located in the center of everything you love about Greenwich Village and prime downtown Manhattan, moments from Washington Square Park, surrounded by restaurants, shops, and nightlife, and the R, W, and 6 subway lines. Maybe best of all, this uniquely central downtown location also offers extraordinarily easy access to SoHo, West Village, East Village, NoHo, NoLIta, and Union Square. If location matters to you, this is it.

Greenwich Village | Manhattan

Quick Profile

Birthplace of beatniks, Greenwich Village has always been a neighborhood bursting with creativity, home to artists, poets, musicians and writers. There is a lot of foot traffic in the neighborhood, as it gives convenient access to many other neighborhoods. There are a lot of popular eateries on MacDougal Street and bars on Bleecker Street. The neighborhood has a bit of a college-town feel, due to the presence of NYU. There aren’t large chain stores here, so it isn’t really a mecca for shopaholics, but you can find interesting vintage stores and specialty boutiques.

Available housing is centered on pre-war walk-ups. You can find good deals on the quieter, tree-lined side streets, as opposed to the bustling avenues. There are pockets of brownstones and townhouses, some dating back to the early 19th century, throughout the neighborhood, as well. You will find more luxurious housing in the newer high-rise buildings on Park and Fifth Avenues.

Washington Square Park is the heart of the neighborhood. If you sit near the Arch and close your eyes, you might catch an echo of the music and social history of the Park, floating through the air. Greats like Joan Baez, Bob Dylan, and Paul Simon started their storied careers right here in Greenwich Village. Today, the Village is a celebration of diversity, where everyone is welcome.
