Property Description for 61 Lexington Ave, 6-C

This one-of-a-kind duplex delivers what few can: dramatic double-height ceilings, a striking spiral staircase, and your own private rooftop terrace with jaw-dropping, unobstructed skyline views - including the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building.

Located directly across from the landmarked 69th Regiment Armory, the home enjoys protected views and the peace of mind that comes with knowing there's no looming new development to block your light.

Inside, the home balances function with character. A skylit upper-level bedroom brings a sense of warmth and airiness, while hardwood floors run throughout the space. The closets have not yet been built out, giving you the opportunity to customize storage exactly to your liking. While the unit does not currently have a dishwasher or washer/dryer installed, all the hookups are already in place - ready when you are.

61 Lexington Avenue is a boutique, investor-friendly condominium tucked between Gramercy and Kips Bay. The best of the neighborhood is right outside your door: Madison Square Park, Whole Foods, Baruch College, and a lineup of local favorites along Lexington and Park Avenues. Convenient access to the 6 train at both 23rd and 28th Streets keeps the entire city within easy reach.

This is a rare offering where architectural drama, private outdoor space, and an unbeatable location all come together under one roof.

Kips Bay | Manhattan

Quick Profile

If you take a walk through Kips Bay, which is loosely defined as the area between 23rd street and 34th street and the East River to almost Lexington, you’ll quickly learn it's a hodgepodge of sorts and not as well defined as other neighborhoods in New York City. Some New Yorkers say Kips Bay has an identity crisis because 1st, 2nd, and 3rd avenues are distinctly different from one another as you traverse them. Despite the perceived lack of neighborhood vibe there are others that appreciate its affordability and convenience.

First Avenue is dominated by hospitals and hospital buildings such as NYU Medical Center and Bellevue Hospital to name a few. Second Avenue is a mosaic of convenience stores, fast food joints and nondescript brick buildings. Third Avenue is saturated with small bars and gastropubs and the twenty somethings that patronize them.

No judgement against Kips Bay here. It’s a great neighborhood that is just as much a part of New York City as any other neighborhood. Kips Bay It’s bordered by Murray Hill to the North, Stuyvesant Town and Gramercy Park to the South, and Rose Hill to the West. The neighborhood is partly defined by newer high-rise apartments, brick rowhouses, and former tenement buildings.
