Located on leafy Washington Avenue with a private entrance directly across from Prospect Park and the Botanical Gardens, this apartment, larger than some houses in the neighborhood, was meticulously renovated using condo-quality finishes and a fine attention to detail. The focal point of the home is a sprawling open-concept living area with a dramatic exposed brick wall and three large windows. This space is large enough for both living room and dining room furniture, and is open to the brand new and designer-crafted kitchen. You will love preparing meals in your chef-approved kitchen, which has been appointed with custom cabinetry, modern glass subway tile backsplash, high end stainless steel appliances, and a gorgeous cooktop island featuring a memorable waterfall-style Cararra marble countertop. The apartment also features four similarly sized bedrooms with closets, two full baths appointed with modern white subway tiles and modern fixtures, your very own washer/dryer in the unit, custom designed entry door, dual screen video intercom, ample storage space, brand new gleaming hardwood floors, and soaring ceilings.

901 Washington Avenue is a beautifully restored prewar elevator building situated across from Prospect Park and facing the renowned Brooklyn Botanic Gardens. This highly sought after building features an elegant restored lobby, planted entryway, two elevators, resident superintendent, and onsite laundry facilities. Enjoy a fabulous Prospect Park location, just steps from some of Brooklyn’s finest cultural institutions and attractions, such as the Brooklyn Museum and Prospect Park Zoo, as well as the lively shopping and dining corridor along Franklin Avenue. The building is steps from the 2/3 trains at Brooklyn Museum, the 4/5 trains at Franklin Ave, and a few blocks from the B/Q at Prospect Park.

Crown Heights | Brooklyn

Quick Profile

Originally known as Crown Hill by the Lenape Indians that lived there, Crown Heights has evolved into a diverse neighborhood, occupied primarily by Hasidic Jews and one of the largest Caribbean populations to be found anywhere outside of the West Indies.

Head over to Nostrand Avenue, one of the main West Indian commercial areas in the neighborhood, which is lined with stores that have been in those exact same places for generations, providing their goods and services to area residents. Kingston Avenue has similar commercial activities that support the Jewish community, and Franklin Avenue shows the most signs of change and gentrification, with an ever-expanding mix of yoga studios, coffee shops, and organic grocery stores that serve the influx of young professionals. No matter which of these areas you visit, you will find an interesting mix of businesses that you wouldn’t normally picture as existing side-by-side. It is all part of the cultural diversity of Crown Heights.

The neighborhood is bisected, from east to west, by Eastern Parkway, which is a beautiful, 3-mile-long boulevard lined with mature trees. This leafy oasis was designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, famed designer of Central Park, the Biltmore Estate in North Carolina, and the U. S. Capitol in Washington, D. C.

You will find a mix of low-rise apartment buildings, large middle-class elevator buildings, brownstones, and some luxury buildings. Century-old architecture stands next to modern residential developments in a visually interesting mix of styles, much as the diversity of the residents exists. People who would not normally meet and mix are forging new pathways to cultural understanding by working, living, and playing together in the same neighborhood.
